I think it happens with button throwing because button throwing has a certain amount of directional randomness in it just like it did in 2K7.

i think it's just a slight bug, probably related to the animations and we should stop trying to find some hidden/******** reason for the dev team to have purposely put it in there...

i've seen it happen when i throw the guy out bt 50 ft and it seems to me that the animation is the problem, nothing to do with throwing off/online

but hey, if some of you guys want to believe this was purposely done for a sim feel, by all means go ahead, lol

Absolutely right. If you don't aim it properly your man has to adjust to the throw which sometimes makes him jump or pulls him off of the bag. I believe it was like this last year too.

There is an animation or something missing then, because a lot of times the 1B appears to catch the ball in stride as he is standing on 1st and the runner is still called safe and the thrower is given an error.

Have you guys considering using the RS to throw and play defense? I tried using the button in the demo, but I found that it just kinda sucks and doesn't seem "responsive" enough.

The only time the 1B off the bag thing happened to me was when it seemed like it was going to be a close play at first, but I threw it with like no power. Then again, that really isn't much of an excuse (maybe that's 2K's way of saying that I should throw it faster or simulating a situation where the 1B might get run over so he stepped off?) Don't really know..
