What do you think about the results, do HR's seem too high? Also which ratings did you use, 3 year average or weighted or?
I used the weighted 3 year avg. HR do seem a little high, figuring last year only 4 players had over 36 and in this year I had 8.

Re: Made my own ratings calculator

What would you suggest doing for players with only 1 or 2 years of experience or limited time?

I also noticed that Michael Young is missing his RH splits in 2009

My general rule has been that if they have over 100 AB's I use my calculators rating, otherwise I just leave what SOE has set for them. For contact and power, that is 100 AB's vs left or right not both together. And thanks, I'll look into the Young issue tonight when I get home from work.

I could easily adjust the formulas to give lower ratings, but that would affect everybody, even guys like Bautista and Fielder.

Re: Made my own ratings calculator

I also did just 1 season simulation, I'll try to do 2 more today.

For Durability & Fielding, i've just been using Kritter's formula.

I put Elvis Andrus #'s and heres what i got.

Durability - 99
Arm Str - 80
Arm Acc - 50
React - 53
Fielding - 92

Here's Torii Hunter, since he's one of the best fielders out there.
Durability - 97
Arm Str - 24
Arm Acc - 94
React - 52
Fielding - 99

Re: Made my own ratings calculator

Another Simulation....

Andrus - .250, 3 HR, 164 H, 48 RBI
Young - .287, 19 HR, 188 H, 85 RBI
Hamilton - .223, 28 HR, 124 H, 91 RBI
Napoli - .229, 42 HR, 146 H, 112 RBI
Beltre - .252, 33 HR, 136 H, 81 RBI
Cruz - .272, 31 HR, 143 H, 88 RBI
Kinsler - .280, 24 HR, 152 H, 68 RBI
Murphy - .304, 15 HR, 147 H, 59 RBI
Moreland - .285, 28 HR, 163 H, 86 RBI

League Leaders
Batting Avg - Gardner - .323
Hits - Fielder - 200
2B - Ichiro - 45
3B - Gardner - 14
HR - Gomes - 48 (BIG PROBLEM HERE)---15 players hit more than 36 HRs. Power definitely needs to be reduced.
RBIs - Gomes - 122 (18 with over 100+, so clutch may need to be decreased, maybe doing it by RC instead of RISP)

And Another....
Kinsler - .251, 21 HR, 141 H, 81 RBI
Andrus - .291, 3 HR, 194 H, 56 RBI
Hamilton - .275, 34 HR, 149 H, 91 RBI
Beltre - .263, 32 HR, 144 H, 99 RBI
Young - .277, 24 HR, 178 H, 95 RBI
Cruz - .261, 36 HR, 137 H, 90 RBI
Napoli - .331, 33 HR, 161 H, 93 RBI
Murphy - .282, 16 HR, 132 H, 61 RBI
Moreland - .240, 24 HR, 103 H, 71 RBI

League Leaders
BA - Napoli - .331
H - J. Weeks - 199
2B - Ellsbury - 58 (15 players had 40+ compared to 10 IRL)
3B - B. Upton - 12
HR - Fielder - 46 (Still had 20 players hit 36+, wasn't counting the NL before)
RBI - Fielder - 131 (Had 24 with 100+)

I fixed this, new version is up in the OP. Just had the lookup range too short in some of the formulas, Young was near the end of the database and it wasn't finding him.
