Yeah, lol, saw Utley get a lecture in the dugout for chasing three bad pitches outside in a row to strike out.

Does anyone else think the foul ball animation with the guy going down on 1 knee is overused? At least in the demo. It seems like every foul ball that is not hit by Ryan Howard, is that 1 knee down thing.

It looks awesome, no doubt about that, but in the demo it's highly overused, as I rarely see guys going down on a knee in real baseball.

My guess is the whole demo thing, 1.5 gig compared to 50 gig worth of stuff, but I was just wondering if anyone else noticed it.

I thought it was awesome the first time, very Andruw Jones like. But yeah, definitely overused. There's a good chance that a lot of animations, commentary, hell even cut scenes aren't in this demo and are reserved for the retail game. I'm hoping the foul ball animation is one of them. I mean it's cool, but like the beach balls and such... sometimes too much of a good thing, when supposedly rare, isn't that good of a thing.

I'm going to jump on again in a half hour until like 10:00 tonight. This game is pure digital crack!

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Just finished my best game yet.

Couldn't do anything at the plate so i decided to give Legend a shot for fun. I actually won my first game as the Phillies 3 - 0. Hamels had 4Ks and 1 BB over 4 innings, and Utley hit the go ahead 3 run homer in the third.

In the top of the third the Rays loaded the bases with a lead off double followed by a walk and then me being stupid trying to get the lead runner at third on a sac bunt attempt.

I then got an infield ground out at home, followed by a K, and then a flyout to right.

The whole legend difficulty just felt tighter and more real than the other ones. If that makes any sense.

i'm new to operation sports and this is an awesome site! been reading bout mlb09 for about a week or two on here and decided i had to join and get in on the excitement for this game. I love baseball games and loved mlb08. needless to say, this demo is unbelievably awesome! I didnt think it could get much better from last year but man, its gonna be a great game.

One thing......i pitch from pitcher view and im stoked about being able to read the catchers signs this year. I understand the signals for the type of pitch he is calling to be thrown and if he wants to locate the pitch inside or out, but have not figured out his signal when he wants the pitch location up or down. any tips on this would be appreciated.

Go Tribe in 09!

I'm 99% sure it's because it's the demo, I'm not worried about it. I remember 08 had a lot of stuff that wasn't in the demo and then you played the game and it was like "holy crap."

Thumbs up Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Here are some of my impressions after playing about 10 games between the two teams. (keep in mind, I realize things will be added in the full game compared to the demo, I'm strictly going on the demo ONLY)

- The hitting is so much improved. The bat speed just makes things 100x more realistic. Even after 10+ games I'm STILL swining early a lot of the time! lol I've been playing 08 every day since it was released so I still have that system in me.

- The breaks on the pitches are WAYYYYY better. I can't express enough how much this improved the game.

- The catcher calling the game, awesome feature except I have no idea if he ever calls a pitch up in the strike zone. I think right now it's just too hard to read exactly where he wants the ball. Also, if you miss the sign he throws down, forget having him call it again, because he won't do it, and you can't shake him off. Hopefully this is fixed in the full version, if not, not a huge deal, will continue to pitch the old way

- I think 90% of my runs scored were on homeruns. Not thrilled about that, but it does make sense in the fact that both pitchers are number 1 starters and don't have a ton of manufactured runs against them usually, they just make mistakes and have homers hit on them. So no big deal.

- Still don't like the old replay angles. Some are okay, but there are like two that I HATED in 08, and both are back. The strikeout cam from the TV style, behind the back, broadcast view is nothing short of amazing. I mean LOVE watching the replays from that angle. Same with the batting replays, the pressbox style view, and the homerun cam that looks like a TV broadcast are amazing.

- Mentioned this before but I miss the old lineup style, I miss them going through each player one by one instead of focusing on one player. VERY small thing though that won't detract me from the game one bit.

- LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the 10 second intro BEFORE the game starts. That REALLY makes it feel like a TV broadcast. Small detail, but huge in the immersion factor.

- Field degradation, amazing. Love how they added that.

- Fans walking around, up and down steps, vendors, etc. All amazing details that immerse you even further into the experience.

- Lighting is fantastic

- Sound is fantastic

- Feel of the game is fantastic

Can't wait to play the full version, upload sounds, do RTTS, those are things that REALLY make the game fun, hell I'm having fun with a 4 inning exhibition demo, I can imagine what RTTS is going to be like!

Oh yeah!
