I only play with the Mets, and you would think since they are ranked like 6th( i think) I already get a boost since they are a better team, wrong!! its like Im playing with the rangers against the Yankees everygame. I dont know for sure how many games I've actually played and won because of the profile glitch.. but I'd say around 30-40 games and I've only won maybe 10. Now Im not saying I should be winning 35 of those games, but atleast .500 would seem reasonable being that im the mets and not one of the worst teams. Last year I played the game on allstar and won probably 3 out of every 5 games I played. This year I've been on allstar and the games I win are either blowouts like 8-2 or either shutouts. rarely close games.

My problems are:

that If My pitcher is doing great, My batting is horrible, and if my pitching is crappy my hitting is good, but never good enough.

Contact and Timing is a joke, it never seems to be consistent, and what pisses me off the most is when I guess the right location, right pitch, perfect timing and wheelhouse..yet I hit a popfly or grounder.

also I leave tons of runners stranded, for some reason I ground out or pop out 3/4ths of the time with runners on.

Third basemen over throwing first base happens way too often, I mean its david wright I cant even remember watching a game in reallife where he overthrew first base.

The computer always seems to get some crazy boost late in the innings if i am up by only 1-2 runs and comes back to tie or win.

I like that they made diving and jumping for balls harder this year, but you have to be PERFECT to ever make one.

also everynow and then fielders dont even react when the ball comes right next to them, causing hitters to get doubles and triples they dont deserve.

So I've lowered the difficulty down to Veteran, and I have lost 3 games in a row and 1 of them was a total blowout 8-0. I'll play some more on this difficulty but if things dont change Im in desperate need of some good sliders, cuz theres no way im switching to mlb2k9.

long read, but I had to vent.
I'm seeing a lot of the same things you are and it pisses me off to no end. The developers keep calling us crazy, but something isn't right if so many people are seeing the same things.

Baseball is a cotdamn frustrating game in real life, bout time a video game captured that accurately!

The one thing I do agree on is that the hitting is still too random. As JahCreations said, you can time a pitch perfectly and get the PCI directly on the pitch and hit a weak ground ball. Then you'll have the PCI on top of the ball and hit a towering homer. 09's hitting system isn't a pure cursor system but it is improved over 08 IMO - however it still needs some tweaking in the future.

Your pissing me off to no end. No developer called you crazy. That's a flat out lie. They just told you the truth. Matter of fact they all go out of their way to ask us how they can improve this game. Have you ever seen this kind of forum interaction from any other developers? http://www.operationsports.com/forum...eedback-forum/ Something is very right with this game. The only thing that isn't is the way you play it. If this game is pissing you off,get rid of it or drop to a lower level and learn how to play it. This isn't last years version of the game with a graphic update. This game has been tweaked to represent baseball the way it should be. You have another option for baseball on your PS3. Have at it.

God these threads piss me off. We had SCEA inviting respected members from our forum to come out and check the game out prior to release. We also have developers asking us our opinions on how to make this great game better. You had direct feedback from a developer in your locked thread and you still choose to point blame at someone other than yourself. You do this under the premise that many others are seeing the same thing. Well guess what? Many others aren't.

When did the devs call us crazy? Because those are fightin' words...

lol

j/k

For the record I haven't seen anything thats on that list to the extent(meaning rarely at best if at all) that would cause me to raise a red flag. JMO though...

I gotta be honest, and i agree with Jackdog, this the game we have been screaming for year in and year out since i have been here. The only other game that got this much respect was NFL 2K5. Now i believe that a lot of us (myself included) are not being real and lowering our difficulty level to the level that fits us NOW (not 08). Because I am getting smoked by the cpu on a regular and fixed basis. But i like it...a lot, and eventually I will win a number of game, and i'd have earned it. Every hit, steal, K, Base on Ball i get i feel like i have earned and that is a first in any game that i have played.

Re: Never has a game that I enjoy this much, also piss me off this much.

This is one hell of a game and everyone here knows that. I agree with that myself as it took me a bit to adjust to it, especially in RTTS, but it's all about how we CHOOSE to play the game.

SCEA put sliders, handicaps, guess pitch and other features in so we can enjoy the game in tune with our personal preferences, and IMO everything works almost perfectly.

Sports game of the year, possibly game of year full stop!

The question is, if you are struggling, do you stick on the difficulty you are on, and EVENTUALLY get to a good standard, or do you go down and get realistic games immediately? Ultimately it's your choice...

Amen. I think people are realizing now that the game is not broken, and it's just a realistic learning curve. Like in real baseball, your thorough practicing will pay dividends.
