That's good advice too. I've been playing with 0 speed for months now, and it's perfect. I'm so glad SCEA made the pitch speed slider not a factor in how hard the ball is hit. I'm sure there's people out there who's manly pride won't let them lower the pitch speed, but it's one of the biggest things that has made this game as enjoyable as it is.

And I play baseball in real life, hitting a ball in general is not easy.
I never said hitting was easy. If it is 3-1 he wont throw it over the middle. A good pitcher will throw a breaking ball for a strike so you cant thin kthey will give you a free-bee fastball right now the middle

yeah but if they let the count get to 3-1 then they are struggling with control. unless they throw that breaking pitch right over the middle of the plate there is a good chance they may not get a strike.

Here is what I noticed about hitting that I PMed to another user...

One thing that I promise will make tremendous results is to get into big hitters counts (3-1, 2-0) as this game rewards these counts with meatballs 75% of the time (and the reward you BIG TIME!). Also, you will not get weak hits on these kind of counts (the game almost punishes you for hitting any pitch on 0-0 and 1-1 counts). So by taking pitches (I recommend always taking the first pitch unless the pitch is absolutely dead center fastball) and working into hitters counts, the pitcher will be forced to give in to you and throw it center of the plate. That is why you have heard people saying not use the L stick; by working the count you will get pitches dead center that you won't need the L stick for.

If you find yourself with a man on 1st and less than 2 outs, prepare to use the L stick all the way DOWN as the pitcher will be throwing low balls to get you to hit a ground ball. Keep the stick down until you get to a hitters count (now they have to throw one dead center) or if you get to 2 strikes as now they are going for the strikeout and may be throwing it anywhere.

Also, you will hear people say not to use power swing (square button). However, if you have a power hitter up and are in a hitters count (and especially if the pitcher has low confidence), use the power swing and enjoy the show.

As far as right analog, I can't really recommend it as I don't use it much at all. However, I can see an argument where if you want to cause a low ball (where the pitcher wants you to ground into a double play) to be a fly ball, use the R stick up.

I hope this is able to help you.

Yep, good post

One thing that you should always remember is that they key to hitting is knowing the situation, and what to do in it.

Re: Your Batting Approach

The best thing that has made my batting stats more realistic was the following: If I ever chase a pitch out of the zone, I have to take the next pitch no matter what the count is and no matter what the result of that swing was. It increased my walks and strikeouts which both needed a boost.
