Pujol is actually the choice regardings his stats.
But I would go with Jeter or Ichiro.

Losing buyers over a cover athlete? I personally don't think so. There is always Ichiro or Albert too.

They have to go with a big-name player, and there are few or none bigger than A-rod. I went back pretty far, and didn't see him on any 2K or MLB covers. Plus, he's a Yankee. Since Wright and Howard went back to back, I have a feeling it will be an AL player again this year, but at this point it's all speculation.
a-rod was on slugfest 20-03 if you dont remember. pujols was on mvp baseball 2004.
