really love this idea Allan, and would love to play. Since BK would take the Jays, my 2nd choice would be the A's or Id take any team

Re: Looking for someone to play a season with

Thanks but this isn't really an idea. I did this last year with a coworker of mine but he isn't such a big baseball fan and I was suspicious of him restarting games when things weren't going his way. You guys might want to work something on your own and then maybe we can all compare stats.

I will keep racking my brain to figure something out but the goal is to run a smooth season with users that are extremely passionate about baseball and staying true to the game. It is nice to have your accomplishments be recognized and have some competition with stats and records. I actually want to do this for seasons to come and log all stats and records. I have been playing baseball games for the past 10 years and don't see that stopping anytime soon.

I have actually completed a league called the 162 where 30 guys played a full 162 game season with MVP 2005. I believe we only replaced 8 owners or so and it was a blast. However, online baseball is pretty bad and can affect crucial parts or crucial games. If anyone has any ideas please let them fly. I really can't see this working with more than 2 people realistically unless we sim after a certain period of time of a game not being completed which I do not want to do. But like I said maybe we can just lump our stats together from different leagues.

Trying to make things as sim as possible I will want to play with setting where there is no vibration around the strikezone let alone a strikezone box. Obviously you can play with whatever settings you want as long as it is a reasonable difficulty for yourself. You shouldn't be winning over 100 games unless you are the Yankees or some other great team. This isn't about winning and losing as much as realistic baseball.

right totally understand where your coming from. I was thinking for head to head matchups we could do something where the home team you play the first 5 innings or last 5 innings your choice, and the other user plays 4 innings. Example If I was to play the first 5 innings I would mark down all the stats and then basicly the other owner would go from there completing the last 4 as an example and we would then total the complete stats for the 9 innings played. It was the first thing that popped in the head that way both guys get to play the game in a sense.

In order for it to work with more guys you could use the following rule to reduce or eliminate slow play:

Every game is played in it's schedule order within the game. If, for example, LA and SF have the first game in the daily schedule list whomever is playing that game plays it and emails it to the next games player (Cin-Atl, for example) AND the guy AFTER that game (Mil-stl).
If the Cin-Atl player does NOT get his game in within a certain time then the Mil-Stl game player has the option to play OR sim the Cin-Atl game and then play his own scheduled game, and then emails the league file to the next two guys on the schedule, where the same rule would apply.

This is pretty good mate. I think the person could straight up save the game in the middle of the 4th and then send the entire file to the other guy which would keep all the stats from the first half.

I was thinking the same thing. Only thing is people can't play other peoples games. I want to avoid simming at all cost but either the user plays of the comp plays for him. I don't even want this to be an option though because this is how people lose interest. I could see it now "well the computer has already played 10 of my games, they aren't even really my stats" then just giving up. I want ever game to be played by the user. Thats why I am aiming for a 3 person MAX. I would actually prefer 2 to avoid having any simming or playing the computer for the other users team. Especially in the playoffs, at least if we are opposite leagues it is the final series but in a divisional or championship series it could really f things up.

Sorry to all that were interested but me and bond are going to run one together with the jays and dodgers which works perfectly since the two teams don't play one another. If someone wants to do an online league deal I am still interested though to get my more competitive fix.

Re: Looking for someone to play a season with

I actually had the idea to try this with my some of my friends that I used to play multiplayer franchises with but have moved away from where they live now. You say you can sim the games where user vs. user hits the schedule, well when I did it for Madden we would play the user vs. user games online, then we would sim in the franchise till that team won. Sometimes one of us would even go into the game and just make all the stats that happened in the online game happen in the offline game, like make LT rush for 118 yards or whatever, and then match the final score. So obv. it's your league and if you simply want to sim them all that's up to you just didn't know if you considered playing them online then mimicking the result offline. Because it could really ruin the experience if you play all those games then get to playoffs and find a user vs. user series and you are forced to sim it.
