MLB 10: The Show - Online Thoughts/Comments
Hey guys I know there is an Impression thread already, I just thought of starting a thread to deal stricly with the online aspects and a place to ask questions about online play. For the people who have It what are your thoughts/comments of online playLast edited by Boozers; 03-01-2010, 01:49 AM.Tags: None -

For the guys who have played online does It run smoother and not lag as much as 09? Is mic support work this year for the most part? Does the Scout Now feature work this year so It puts you into a game automatically according to your options selected? or do you have to wait for opponents to accept your challenge's like last year? Can you select presentation options in an online game like choosing to have real presentation on or off? I heard the broadcast camera is in this year and the not default batter view like It was last year does it look the same offline as online? -

FWIW, here is a tweet I saw earlier from PSNation. I didn't get to ask him to go into further detail however...
@PS3Nation: MLB 10 The Show is very polished this year, and online play ACTUALLY works, wired or wireless (better if you're PS3 is wired though.)Comment

Let's wait untill everyone has the game before we judge. Any game will run smooth with a dozen guys online.
I'm definitely hoping it plays better than 09.Madden 17

My biggest hopes for the game is that online lag was reduced as promoted, since I'll probably spend the first few weeks doing nothing but online games until opening day and minor league rosters are done (don't want to start franchise or RTTS if I am just going to restart them in a few weeks).Comment

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Even if it runs smoothly right now, performance will be different when there are tens of thousands of people on instead of 8.

The MIC issue is MUCH better than last years. Actually, there is an indicator on the bottom right hand side of the screen. Its a picture of a virtual skull with a headset on and it emits red "waves" if the other person does not have a mic, and yeallow 'waves" if both people are talking.
Also, they moved the on/off mic toggle AWAY from the L3 button to the "down" on the D-Pad. AWESOME! Only trouble, which id very minor copared to years past is that when you press up on the dpad to access the quick menu, im using to cycling through the options by pressing up and down on the d pad. Pressing down on the d-pad will toggle the mic on or off. Not to bad though as you can see the indicator now at least, and more importantly, it stays intact and on during gameplay!
Haven't started my league yet but planning to as soon as everyone else gets on. I'm hoping the PSN issues with the older, fat PS3's will be fixed soon. Until then i'm lucky enough to own a slim model too.!Comment

I've had the game since early yesterday, and so far, appx 8 games logged online. Lag hasnt been an issue at all. The point about so few people on the servers is well taken, but so far so good.

Just played an amazing game online.
Yankees vs Rays. AJ vs Garza. I couldn't touch Garza at first.. I did have chances though. AJ was pitching pretty good but gave up 3 Solo HRs. After the third bomb in the 7th, I took him out for Hughes. I was losing 3-1 in the top of the 9th when Cano hit a 2 Run HR to tie the game. I took the lead 4-3 on a Swisher double, Mo with 2 strikeouts in the 9th for the save.
NO lag at allComment
