Played 3 games so far (One complete game, the other two bums quit), and I have to say I'm impressed. It's not perfect, but very playable and enjoyable. I just wish more players would take their beating instead of quitting like a bunch of pansies. Also, what difficulty do you have to play in order for a game to be ranked? I always challenge a rank game, on All-Star, and the games I played didn't count to my stats or my record. When I played a HoF game and the dude quit, the stats appeared.

Thats weird I played 2 games on veteran and my stats saved.

The game is totally unplayable online. The lag is horrible and it's impossible to check swing. You better start swinging when the pitcher releases the ball. I always play games online (nhl10) and there is 0 lag, but for some reason there is a ton for this game. And a baseball game relies so much more on timing... I'll never play this game online again.

I've played 5 games and all have been flawless. I never had any problems in past years with The Show online, so this is no surprise. I'm on a wired connection, so I'm sure that helps. Sucks it's still lagging for some people, though.

just tried to play another game... up 4-0 in the 4th and it just locks up and kicks us back to the lobby. game doesnt count for anything, doesnt even show up in game history.

tried 3 games so far and have only gotten through 1. a guy quit 1 (stats didnt count) and then this disconnect.

Russel sometimes after a game, it will freeze going back to the lobby, happened to be and dmb, and it took a cold turn off and turn on i couldnt even get back to the xmb.

Ditto. I have only played one online game, but this happened to me as well. I was up 7-3 fairly late in the game. We were getting some lag, so to the other conceded, and I accepted. The game froze going back to the lobby (I gave it over 10 minutes). I could not even get to the XMB, and had to cold boot.

While the online is improved, there seems to be a bug in the intentional walks. I've only played two games, but both have been frozen by the other player attempting to give me an intentional walk. The game doesn't freeze, but the catcher stands up to receive the ball, and then they all just stand there.

Definitely needs to be fixed. In the meantime, maybe pitchouts can be used instead? I have to just throw outside because you might throw a wild pitch instead.

I intentionally walk Pujols and Holliday one right after the other with no problems in 3 games last night.

I haven't played online yet but a buddy of mine did and he said it was awful. I don't understand how anyone in this thread can say they have no lag but in the past games they've never had any lag either. The devs acknowledged lag was a problem last year.

Actually last year games were OK online if you could get over the terrible lag when batting/pitching. I remember i'd throw a strike and be proud of myself, the guy would whiff on it and then like a second after I thought I got a strike the ball would come streaking to the outfield. I was like..WTF? I got used to it though but man did it look awful.

Played 2 games. Work perfectly.

Is there anyway you update so you use the broadcast field view when playing?

IDK if this was mentioned before but the hits online look awkward/glitched, hitting the ball looks like it hits the players helmet rather than the bat.

So far I have to say the online experience is way better than it was last year. It wasn't so bad last year for me, though there was definitely lag issues to get used to. I played in a league that was really competitive and it was a lot of fun.

In about 10-15 games, only one has been what I would consider to be really laggy. 90% have been absolutely smooth, and just a couple games have had even a little lag.

The lighting even looks great online, with the overall graphics definitely being nicer than they were last year. Way less aliasing and blurring going on.

Now, if they could just do something about these guys that abuse the early steal. And - for anyone who plays one of these guys - you can't step off with R1 this year. Just hold L2 and throw to the appropriate base. I got burned once by the early steal because I was trying to step off like last year, but then I figured out and the guy stopped doing it right away.

You can do something yourself about that...vary your delivery time. There's nothing wrong with the early steal...it's when you constantly throw the same or quick pitch, then you are easy to time.

My online experience went from good to bad. It was very playable during the three to four innings, but slowly degraded to very laggy over the next two. Guy quit after I went up 7 to 4. I need to find some people who won't quit when they fall behind.

Wow you can use the classic stadiums online, and i jus played a guy and it was awesome

He was Giants I was Nats, I used Marquis, anyways i take a lead on a big triple into the deep gap of polo grounds lol.

That stadium is awesome to play in, anyways the good part came later he tied it up.

2 guys on for dunn, he mashes it to left it goes around 445 feet, bounces around, and guess what insdie park homer for Dunn.

Then later he splits the gap for a triple, using classic stadiums online is pretty much awesome.

I know that. Why do you think I went through telling guys you can't step off with R1 anymore...

And it's usually the guys who early steal who are also quick pitching too.
