Online play still has a lot of lag, primarily with pitching. Hoping it gets better

I haven't played online yet but a buddy of mine did and he said it was awful. I don't understand how anyone in this thread can say they have no lag but in the past games they've never had any lag either. The devs acknowledged lag was a problem last year.

Actually last year games were OK online if you could get over the terrible lag when batting/pitching. I remember i'd throw a strike and be proud of myself, the guy would whiff on it and then like a second after I thought I got a strike the ball would come streaking to the outfield. I was like..WTF? I got used to it though but man did it look awful.

Online last year was unplayable for some but I still managed to play 80 games online. Not sure but your friend should consider playing wired or changing his internet service provider. The game plays flawless online.

I'm still not sold that online is *that* much improved this year. It does seem like the game handles lag better than it did last year, but lag is still a problem with this game. Maybe I just haven't played other people who are sure their connection isn't clogged, but I haven't seen the perfect games that others are talking about.

Pitches are sometimes inconsistent with where they appear to wind up and where they actually get called. I've seen plenty of balls that are low or outside and then get "moved" a few inches to be a strike. Most likely lag, but tough when you got some guy throwing you what seems to be garbage in the dirt and instead it winds up a strike.

Hitting seems much different this year also...there's certain to be some button lag when hitting, but I just haven't gotten any sense of timing down yet. Especially with guys throwing 95+, it seems you just don't have as much time as you did last year to react and swing.

Maybe things can be tweaked in the game somewhat, but I'm still slightly disappointed with the game online so far this year.

Is there a way to tell what everyone is using? Meaning, the type of internet, if it's a wired/wireless connection, etc? I played a guy today and it said "great" when picking teams, then started the game and it was unplayable. Played 3 games today, 1 was solid, 1 was just ok/decent, and the 3rd was horrible.

I'm on wired, cable modem, so I'm good. Just wondering if there's a way to tell what everyone is using...

Just had a perfect game through 7 2/3 online... traffic delay followed by disconnection!!! AHHHHH!!!!

I have had one laggy game out of 5 games played. I like the sportsmanship feature this year. I hated when sore losers in the past would give negative reviews on purpose even though it was a well played game.

I'm currently stuck trying to intentionally walk Ryan Howard. Poor guy on the other end is getting in his bunt stance and coming out of it and doesn't know what's going on. This game just keeps getting better and better...

Post this in the bugs/glitches thread stickied at the top of the forum. From what Russell said, it could possibly be related to the pitcher or the batter. Try to post as much info as you can (pitcher, batter, situation, inning, etc).

I was the Mariners and my opponent was the Detroit Tigers and he beat me with a no hitter, game ended 1-0 for him with 3 hits to 0 hits for me, Bradley and Ichiro were scared of verlander it seemed..couldnt hit anything!!! I'm 0-3 now but loving this game, been lag free...

Brett and myself played online tonight and we both played with a wireless connection and it was fine. We also had intentional walks and no freezing occurred. After the game Brett said his game froze but mine did not.

It shouldn't be freezing or lagging at all...and it is.

I had a 14 inning game online and it was fine the entire game. I just wish there was a Headset only lobby, or atleast had a headset icon beside everyone in the lobby that has a headset.
