OPTIONAL STEP: stop the sim the day before you have to have all arbitration offers made and go through all teams and if you feel a team should offer a guy arbitration but have not, make an offer for arbitration for them. I haven't done this in my sims yet, but it's something I've considered due to people reporting arbitration offers vanishing.

Proceed as normal till Dec 2nd. On Dec 2nd go through every team, and make offers to every "contract renewable" player on a team. *** I haven't played around with offers much, I've been offering the default contract offer that shows up, I think you can change them all to lowball offers of 1yr/50k and it won't have any adverse effect. 8/10 guys don't take the default offer before Feb 28th anyways, but making all offers 1yr/50k will pretty much ensure all of them will not accept the offer by Feb 28th.*** The other thing that you can play with is having an age limit on your offers, say, anyone 30 years old and over even if they are renewable, do not offer a contract and let them fall off into FA and either rot or get signed on their own merits.

Once you have made the offers, proceed through the offseason as normal, and on Feb 28th, or 29th if it's a leap year, the CPU will renew everyone that hasn't accepted the offer you made them on or before Dec 2nd. You obviously have to manually renew the players are your team anytime after Feb 15th if you have your profile setting on manual for that stuff.

This is the basic workaround. Thus far it seems to work. Hopefully SCEA will have a patch that takes care of this soon!
Thanks for the recap. I've been monitoring on an off for awhile, but you saved me some time.

Doesn't help with RTTS, but it may save starting a franchise for me.

Is that the first sim you're referring to? Like, step by step exact from my post?

Those results were good enough for me. If you made ANY changes, could you copy my post, fill in your changes, and repost it for those interested (including myself! LOL!)?

It's really the closest thing to a workaround single team has...unfortunately. But, it'll do.

yeah, you can run single team with budgets off, so long as your are fine (as was said) that young players will move around in FA when they should stay locked up with the team they were on.

Yeah, I guess you can always pretend that those particular players threatened to challenge the exclusivity clause in court and so the organization agreed to let them walk as a settlement. Need an explanation? That's right, I got a million of them.

I think I know the answer, but regarding Hustlin's test:

Are we pretty certain that the budgets, and budgets only, caused the relatively okay results?

In other words...the single day simming past the last day of exclusive negotiations, the renewals across the board, the default contract offers...all had no impact on his results as far as anyone can tell?

SO I have been reading the numerous threads regarding this and I have garnered up a few > if you guys dont mind answering them

1. Does turning Ignore Budgets off mean you can pretty much just go open season on FA. Does that mean that all the ticket prices renovation ect mean nothing?

2. When using 30 team control what EXACTLY does the user have to do to make sure the 2013 bug doesent exist or is very minimal. I read the post above but I would like a little further explanation. Does the user have to go through EVERY single team and renew contracts? I dont mind being the commisoner type and reviewing trades but I would prefer to not renew everybodys contract. What would I do to get a realistic FA class? And what should I set to auto if i Do do a 30 team chise? What do I need to keep in check?

I really hope you can answer these because i highly doubt the patch will be out by spring break and I REALLY wanted to play the show a hell of a lot during spring break and I dont want this 2013 bug holding me back. Thanks!

You can keep everything on auto for the CPU teams, just on/before Dec 2nd go through each team and submit a contract offer for any player that you don't want hitting free agency. It really doesn't take that long at all, maybe 30-45min if you take your time?
