Ever since I stopped buying/playing Madden and NCAA 2 years ago I have been able to get through two seasons of The Show. I doubt this year I will get through 1 since the game I've been waiting YEARS for (Diablo 3) is finally coming out.

It is blasphemy around these parts, but I prefer All Star Baseball 2005 to MVP Baseball 2005.

I just never could get into the whole "golf meter" gameplay style of MVP.

I think it was Triple Play '99, whatever year it was that Sosa and McGuire had the homer duel, I played every single game as the Cubs. I hate the Cubs so why I did this I don't know. I don't know how I did not break my Playstation though, I would play sitting on a dinner table chair with the ps pretty much at my feet, which means when the games bugs would come out I would rage quit by stomping my foot down on the power button. I secretly was hoping I would break it though to keep me from playing anymore. But no, it kept chugging along. Only thing I remember is hitting something close to 60 hr's with Mark Grace and trading for Deon Sanders and stealing 100 bases.
I think the only other time I've managed to play every game was with Tony Larussa baseball on the Genesis with the Padres of McGriff and Sheff. It didn't track stats though so I kept a notebook of my team and when the year was done the stats were spot on.

I don't think there is anything better than playing all 162 games. It lets me know that all the stats accrued are mine and not from the CPU.

I have played and finished a full 162 game season in MLB 09, MLB 10, and MLB 11. I will play another full 162 game season again this year in MLB 12.

For me, this is the big thing (other than just loving baseball at what is probably an unhealthy level). If I'm challenging for a batting title, the home run record, a strikeout or save milestone...I want to be confident that I was the one who achieved it.

For that reason, no matter how badly a game turns--if I start getting blown out, if I just can't hit that day and don't think it's going to change, or if I think I got a raw deal on some CPU shenanigans--I still play through to the end instead of simming the remainder of the game. And, let me tell you, that's tough sometimes at night when I know I need to get to bed and get some sleep, and I'm behind badly and it's only the 4th or 5th inning.

I only did it once, in MVP '05 with the Yankees. Lost to the Red Sox in the ALCS.
