Re: MLB/SCEA Simulated Pitching Stats Analysis (Sliders)

Thinking about your Stanima 8 and hook at 8..... The hook is only going to matter if the pitcher is starting to give up runs on when he will be pullled. If he is pitching a no run game, or low run over course of the game, and you have stanima up to 8, then Im thinking you are making it more possible for the pitcher to complete the game. My thought is this, (100% energy to 0%) default stanima at 5, lets say a pitcher with 93 stanima can pitch est. 100 - 110 pitches. Well at 6, it moves him up to est. 115 - 125 pitches. At 7 lets say it goes to est. 125 - 135 pitches and so on...... Well the hook is only going to matter if said pitcher gives up so many runs by a certain inning. Do you get what Im saying?

Franchise SIM is dead. Find your favorite iterations and play it forever. Card games are whats "now" and games will cater in that direction and forget realism.

Just have fun and play :)

Re: MLB/SCEA Simulated Pitching Stats Analysis (Sliders)

Sure, that makes sense.

The other issue is the way the middle relievers get used. That has as much to do with the SP settings I'm using as it does with the SP. It's an impossible balance, one in which we probably need to use a "pre-All Star game" slider set and a post one to balance things out.

If you look at MLB RP stats today, you'll see MR WELL below 1 IP per game. In order to get that working properly, we need SP to pitch deep (unless shelled) so that:

1) We get better MR results
2) We get more longevity stats for SP, such as Ks (should see around 6 per league 200+), IP (should see around 19 guys per league 200+, wins, etc. etc.)
3) SPs are pulled before accumulating CG/SO.

On a side note, this is just frustrating all together. Have to do all this work, and try to find a "work around" (hate hate HATE that phrase) just to get a aspect of the game to be correct. This game is great imo, and so close hands down. But the CG thing and to me, there are just to many HR's overall but that is another topic. But that is baseball and those are two big things about baseball, so its in the game, and exaggerated. End rant lol

Re: MLB/SCEA Simulated Pitching Stats Analysis (Sliders)

I updated my sliders today with what I am very confident in saying is the best approach for getting the most realistic simulation stats in franchise mode. There are also simple instructions for how to adjust in played games as well.

My most recent Twitch video shows a simulated season with these settings in detail, including accurate IP/G by middle relievers.

thanks. do you have MOM (manage-Only-Mode) sliders and cpu vs cpu sliders ?
I only pitch and never hit. I play on All-Star and I think that HOF would be too difficult; is that true ?

thx

and what roster set do your sliders work best with ?
I used WIllard's final rosters and have a slightly different set of sliders.
