Playing my first game. Wasn't really that impressed until the sun went down and the stadium lights were on. Night games, people, are a thing of beauty.

Also, whereas the whole game plays silky smooth, cutscenes seem to dip below the 30fps threshold. Not a game breaker but it kind of messes with the more polished look of the game.

There is an update file that needs to be installed, which means not all stadiums are playable from the get go.

I see people complaing in the stream thread not knowing what they are talking about so here goes. There is a Japanese style swing, I've seen ichiro, Kawasaki and Choi so far. There is also a slap style that Jonathan Herrera has (my video) who is the only player I've seen with it so far. There is nothing in the edit screen to see which stances have them so we will probably have to create a list. I will post a comparable for ichiro later.

More thoughts to come as i play but i have to quickly comment on the intro....incredible.

I wont say anymore so as not to ruin it for others but yeah, the best in the series by a mile.

Quick initial impression.

Gameplay is buttery smooth. You will notice a difference straight away.

Graphics whilst sharper do come across as an up-rezzed ps3 version. It's like the game they wanted to make on ps3 but just ran out of memory. The lighting for the most part is fantastic which helps bring the game up.

It doesn't have the WOW factor that nba2k had visuals wise. Uniforms especially need a huge upgrade..

What I have played so far though, the gameplay, frame rate and under the hood stuff is brilliant.

I really want to see better visual stuff next year though.

Edit: it's funny, sometimes the game looks absolutely outstanding, and other times not so much. Think the lighting is playing a big part
