Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread

I've decided that I want to tear everything down and build from the ground up with the Yankees. What would be the most effective way to do this? I know that I'll have to keep some of the big contracts like Arod.

Gardner is a big trade piece. Hope for Headley to have a big year, Tex too. Ellsbury might be dealing, I'm not sure, same with McCann. Prado can be dealt for something. I'd probably deal Pineda.

The problem is I don't think you can deal a lot of these guys, the best players are on massive contracts.

Ellsbury is a valuable piece to any contender, especially the Nats. Depending on if you want Tanaka you could get something back though it won't be as much as you want. Tex could land some small prospects I think.

Ellsbury's contract is massive and the Nats have four good outfielders as is. No reason to deal Tanaka right now.

Idk the Nats budget but they could definitely use him. Any contender really, just depends on budget. Shame you can't really eat contracts in this game.

Well the reason would be he wants to completely revamp the team. Idk if he wanted to keep Tanaka or not. You can't get a lot back though because he's pretty risky.

I would start with building a new infield also. 2B, SS and 3B mostly. I think their outfield can wait, especially with Judge

Yah, infield should be priority. Definitely give Refsnyder a chance.

Stay away from injury-risk pitchers as well. Pineda's too scary.

Going to start a Red Sox franchise with OSFM. When I get to the deadline I would like to target a top starter and closer, preferably in one trade. Would either Hamels/Papelbon or Cueto/Chapman be possible, and what would it take? I know I'd have to start with Swihart and Owens. Any other teams you think might trade a top starter and closer?

I'm not going to start up anything until the Hybrid rosters drop, I'll evaluate my situation come mid July. I doubt it will change though I can't see even the virtual Yankees making a playoff push let alone the real life ones.
