Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here

I have an RTTS going in 16. Named my dude Jermaine Stocker. 6'5, 232, power guy. Drafted by the Brewers originally in round 3, I decided to go to college for a year, came back out, went 26th overall to KC. Spent a year struggling in the minors, only hitting 11 homeruns between AA and AAA. Got a call up to start the last game of the MLB season, 1/4 with an rbi double.

Started the next season in the majors, KC stupidly had Stocker pinch hitting and running for half the year, before finally starting him in mid June. Finished the season with 19 hr, 59 rbi, 23 steals, .271/.325/.447 in half a season of play. Royals finished last in the division, Stocker was traded in the offseason for whatever reason. Landed on the Twins. All star starter, 23 bombs, 62 rbi, batting .298 with an OPS over 1.000 at the break. Then the Twins deal not only Stocker, but Sano as well. Stocker goes to the Rangers, finishes the year batting .277/.425/.556 with 37 hr, 111 rbi, 19 steals. Currently in the ALDS vs Boston.

Trade logic is really bad. Why would a 21 year old second in the AL in rbi, 4th in hr, be traded? Makes 0 sense. And they dealt Sano? Come on.

I am still rolling with 16. 17 is the first show I did not purchase at release.

Very surprising, Nem. I see the potential in 17, but in its current state, I see why people are still playing 16.

I have to say this is surprising to see people still playing this. Especially Countryboy.

What are the reasons you guys went back? For me, ball physics alone makes 17 much better.

I guess if it's server issues I can see it, but imo gameplay is much better in 17.

My main issue with 17 is the QC issue. Loved 16 but 17 is a better game but I should have stuck to guns and waited a while for the issues (there's already some) to get ironed out.

For me, I think that '16 is the more balanced game and provides a better game of baseball on the whole.

There is no doubt that '17 offers things that '16 cannot but the overall feeling I got when playing '17 is that balance was off.

I guess the best I can describe it is that '17 feels more "arcadey" to me than '16. Couple that with a few of the bugs and I feel as though '16 provides the better experience.

My personal opinion is that because of ball physics and humanity AI that '17 needs more tuning then I think they can do via patches.

And honestly I'm not one to wait on patches to play a game. It either entertains me at the start or I move on.

As I've said before '17 isn't a bad game, it's actually a good game. It just isn't my game.

I've gotta say I kinda agree with you on this

I was playing 16 solidly for the month prior to 17 releasing and was enjoying the hell out of it and that enjoyment has certainly dampened since I've been playing 17

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here

I think I'm going back to 16. If 16 had just a little bit of a ball physics tweak, 17 would have nothing at all on 16.

I can't help but think SCEA has gone without competition for too long now; a little pressure from another game developer might do them good.
