I know there is a smaller timing window but it the issue is that guys don't have to be accurate with a pci then it's basically guess pitch and timing. If they guess where you throw it, all they have to do is time it. At first, I didn't believe it was a crutch but I can simply tell when an opponent is using directional. They hammer pitches out of the zone, they swing at tons of junk, which tells me they don't have a great eye so I cannot imagine their eye-hand coordination is such that they can hit the ball the way they are. It generally only happens to me in DD because I am forced to play on All-Star. I do not like using directional. It just feels like a crutch. Press a button, hope he throws where I'm aiming and it's usually a hart hit ball if not a homerun. The thing that bothers me is if using zone there is the chance that I may not get all of it even if I time it perfectly. Directional is just timing and yes it relies on ratings but guess what, most guys who use it if not all of them who use it have a stacked roster.
