Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread

What a game 7.

4th inning. Castro hits a lazy blooper into left. Rizzo is on first. The Outfield dives and missed the ball instead of playing the hop and holding the runners. Rizzo scores, Cubs lead 1-0

6th inning. Giants up with runners on 1st and second. Baez (back to back gold glove) make a nice catch on a hot shot and then throws the ball into the dug out. (I panicked and tapped the button but we had the least errors in the majors this year). Runner on 2nd is awarded home. Score is 1-1

Top 7 - Rule 5 rookie catcher Herb Fuentes comes through clutch with a 2 run HR that loops around the left field pole. Mad Bum is pulled.

Cubs put up 3 more in the 8th and walk out of ATT Park with a 6-1 win. Jason Hammel goes the complete game only allowing 5 hits.

And the Cubs are headed to the World Series!!!!! Down goes the 100+ win Giants.

Boston wins the ALCS. It's a rematch of the amazing 7 game 18 inning 2016 World Series!! Hopefully this year we can beat Boston.

Nice touch at the end of the NLCS, announcers mention we are head back to World Series. But then they said to defend, we didn't win it last season.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm a little late to the party lol. Anyway just started a franchise with my favorite team the Toronto Blue Jays. So far through 14 games I sit at 6-8. Getting some pretty decent production from my vets Bautista, Aoki, and Morales. Pitching all around has been lack luster with 3 of my 5 starters having a 5.00+ era. I've made two moves to strengthen the very weak bullpen that I started the season with. I traded RP Mike Bolsinger and SS Richard Urena for RP Drew Hutchison and LF Jordan Luplow. The other trade I did was SP T.J. House and 1B Steve Pearce to San Diego for RP Carter Capps. So far through the 6 games I've played against the Orioles, I have won one, by a score of 9-0. Won 3 of 4 against Tampa Bay and split the 2 game series with Milwaukee. AT this point I am pretty set on resigning Bautista to a 1 year deal at the end of the year. Going to try and move Morales at the deadline and his 2 HR/8 RBI and a slash line of .320/.358/.500/.858 should definitely hep a little. I also want to move Tulowitski. What kind of return should I expect from those two? I want to at least one starter caliber OF to platoon with Bautista and Aoki as they start to regress as the season moves on. Very excited to see where this franchise takes me and hear your guy's feedback and questions! Go Jays!

Well we're down 0-3 to the Red Sox in the World Series. Took a 6-2 lead but couldn't hold on. The Panda is probably going to be the WS MVP for the second year in a row. Cubbies need a miracle.

Totally swept by the Red Sox. The game gives the MVP to some DH Kelsey who only played 1 game and went 2-4 with a single run. Clearly all the game looked at was highest BA. Silly.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread

Just finished a season with the Phillies. It took a lot of work but I managed to get them to the playoffs, hoping I can go all the way with them. I made 3 key acquisitions during the season that helped me get the Phillies to the playoffs. I acquired Eduardo Nunez, Lance Lynn, and Tommy Pham. I also played every 3rd game myself and wound up winning the batting title with Nunez. I dunno what it is, but I just find hitting with him very easy. I've also had good luck with Lynn and Buchholz. Lynn ended the year with 17 wins and Buchholz ended the year with 15. (most of those were mine, he performed significantly worse in sim games).

Re: MLB The Show 17 Franchise Discussion Thread

Just got to September in my manage only franchise. I still have a 25 man roster while every other team has 40. Can’t say I’m very happy about it.

This happens when you affiliates are in the playoffs.

You can manually pull extra players up. You just have to make sure you replace them on the minor league team that's still in the playoffs.
