Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Signed a contract extension for 5/53.2 Mil.

Indians traded EE for Wil Meyers. I like the move. Meyers is much younger.

Anyway, I'm having a horrible Spring. I cannot for the life of me hit the ball. My rhythm is totally off. I'm hitting .176. Just awful.

Has anyone else had a bad Spring?

Well I finished out the first year with the A's. I won rookie of the month for the last month and in the offseason I sign a 4 year contract.. A couple days later I'm traded to the Texas Rangers. The first series of 2018 is against the A's & I unload a homer in the first game.. It felt like redemption. Lol

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

I made a Left handed SP with Matt Moore tendencies. However, I made a twist. My four pitches are, Knuckleball, sinker, cir chg, and added a 4sm. Was really into being a starter when I got asked to close. Talk about fun!! I love the closing role. I actually hope they end up keeping there. I love how this game makes it unpredictable. I love not having the choices of teams, or where and when I'll play. Such is life, and there for, such as the show should be. I love this adventure

Franchise SIM is dead. Find your favorite iterations and play it forever. Card games are whats "now" and games will cater in that direction and forget realism.

Just have fun and play :)

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Finished up my 2nd year in Seattle, 8th in the Majors. Much better team results, as the pitching was better, leading to my first Division title. We went 90-72 to take the AL West, and I got to play in the playoffs for the first time.
My regular season was 90% fantastic. Up until mid-September, I was hitting over .300, OBP nearing .400 and a slugging over .500. My numbers were lining up to be the best yet, then I hit a horrible September slump that included a 4-for-40 stretch in the final weeks. This brought my average, OBP, SLG, RBI/HR totals, way down. I was quite frustrated to say the least. My glovework in LF, fortunately, was quite valuable as my WAR was 5.5 and I earned my 2nd Gold Gove. The overall body of work was still similar to my last season, but my production went down.
Here ya go
(If you are new to this I have 2 previous large career posts in the couple pages behind this)
* = career best

27 years old, starting LF, 3rd place hitter, 95 OVR, for Seattle Mariners:

4th All-Star Selection in 5 years
2nd Gold Glove Award (first since 2021 with Atlanta)
145 Gs
549 ABs
624 PAs
155 Hs*
32 HR
85 RBI
5.5 WAR
.282 AVG
.364 OBP
.485 SLG
.848 OPS
71 BB
93 Ks*
15 2B
11.4 BB%
14.9 K%*
.202 ISO
Season included:
- 1000th career hit
- 200th career HR
- 600th career RBI
- 500th run scored

My first playoff experience was a decent one, beating CLE in 5 games in the ALDS, but losing in 6 games to Minnesota in the ALCS. I got on base very well, and got a few key hits throughout, but no power. Unfortunately pitching didn't hold up. My playoff line:
11 Gs/39 ABs - 243/.429/.270 - 0 HR - 4 RBI - 12 BBs

Hopefully I can update you guys after next year with a 6+ WAR season and a World Title.

Every 61 days. What I usually do is play or sim up to that point and then add points to my player making sure to put at least one point in each ability. Then run through another 61 and do it again. Obviously you don't have to wait till 61, it's just what I like to do. Spring training games DO NOT count towards this, playoff games do. Also the day count resets after the off season and won't restart till after opening day.

It's at 87-ish I believe. Got injured (broken shin) for a month in my 1st or 2nd season but that's it.
