You would think the "easiest" way to fix the pitchers as DH "bug" would be to just eliminate it, and allow us the option to actually set lineups WITH ANYONE at DH, pitchers included. Then code the game so the CPU puts the BEST hitter not starting at a position, at DH......

In the case of the Angels, that would be Ohtani. In the case of most other teams, it would be a position player.....

I’m a franchise junkie and I don’t understand why anybody (who isn’t a die hard Angels fan) would really care about having 2-way players, let alone vow to not play at all this year without that option, it just isn’t prevalent enough currently in my opinion to warrant that.

2-way players aren’t the new standard.....yet. They will be within a few years though and I think if SDS had played it correctly they would’ve spent this year and next year perfecting the kinks and their implementation of 2-way players into the game. Which would give enough time for a handful of guys to get up to the big leagues and gain popularity while validating they are the future of baseball. Then for MLB The Show 21 you get pitcher Ohtani facing hitter Ohtani on the cover and on the back of the box “THIS REVOLUTION IS HERE 2 STAY” and boom there’s your marketing gimmick for the year.

I don’t have a problem with bugs and glitches usually, but I can’t remember the last feature they added that felt as rushed and thrown together as this one.

But I’m hopeful they’ll have it fixed, I know those guys work their asses off.

As much as I have and want to have a carryover franchise the game seems to continue coming up with reasons why this is problematic and bordering on infuriating.

It seems like just picking one team and playing a single season with each release may be the best way to go.

Not sure, either, because the ONLY team in Franchise I have seen it with, is the Angels. And I also run 30 team control, and set EVERY team's lineup, and rotation, and leave the rest to the CPU.

In the Angel's lineup, I have Albert Pujols set as the DH against both right handers and left handers. But, when I play against the Angels (I use the Tigers) Ohtani is in the lineup as the DH, and not Pujols.

I think the only work around, is manually going into the Angels games, starting them like you would a normal game, set the lineups, then once you are in game, sim it to the end......

I don’t give a rats patootie about 2 way players either but it’s impossible for me to not have empathy for the utter frustration someone could have if it matters to them.

They said it was coming in patch 11 and it clearly couldn’t happen. The solution of them just taking it out probably won’t happen either. What I’m guessing will happen is just less transparency from SDS on what they are working on from now on, which is unfortunate.

I asked on the Shownation and got possibly the vaguest statement possible in response

"Yes, we are looking into that issue. As mentioned on the stream, we don't have a timetable for when this is going to come out, but we're working on getting it out as soon as possible."
