I am going to wait for the developer streams to decide if I will buy the game this year (and I should point out that I have bought the game every year since 2012). But I am on the fence right now as to which version to buy if I do indeed buy the game. For the last couple of years I have been playing mostly RTTS and having some stubs lying around to pick up mostly gold but some diamond gear is an option. So if I continue to play RTTS I would consider the MVP addition. But instead of playing RTTS, I am also toying with the idea of playing player lock games in Franchise since I believe it will give me slightly better control of the team and the league over all. So with player lock, there is no need for gear, meaning no need for stubs meaning I can get away with buying just the Standard Edition. The thing I don't like is that SDS releases the Standard Edition four days later than the other bundled options.

Finally, I say this every year "No I will not buy the game". But this year may be different what with it being the last year of the PS4 games. It might not be a bad idea to save some $$$ for 2021 when the PS5 consoles hit the market. I am sure they will not be cheap.

Also remember it's been announced that PS4 games will be Backwards Compatible with the PS5 (*confirm*), so this may factor into your purchasing decision.

I for one am going to end up buying several PS4 games that I wouldn't have otherwise since I know that they can still be used if I sell the PS4 when the PS5 drops.

Franchise is on life support in regards to The Show. I agree with you. I have always LOVED this series, but ever since they dropped Online Franchise like 3-4 days before release a few years ago, after I already paid off my preorder - put a real bad taste in my mouth. Then last year, some of the Sony partners along with Ramone mocked the player base about legitimate stuff broken in the game...on video nonetheless.

The focus of this game the past 3-4 iterations has absolutely shifted towards DD. Gameplay only goes so far when you remove or cut back support on modes that people do enjoy. And honestly, the gameplay wasn't that great last year. Broken hitting, low strikes not being relevant, etc. Far from me to tell people what to do with their money, but for me for the first time ever, this isn't a Day 1 purchase.

I’ll be getting the MVP addition, because for me the $20 is worth a weekend of early play. I don’t play DD or any of the online modes so I will be giving my codes out on this forum like I usually do. Although they dropped the ball last year, my local spot should have the game on the 10th or 11th of early copies are available at regular retail locations

Same here, especially if minor leaguers will be included on the base roster. If that is the case I can start my franchise on 3/13.
