Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

Hey,

Currently around 20 games into season 1 with my Rays franchise.

Looking to get a deal done for a 3B, tired of platooning Diaz with Tsustugo or Wendle and would like some consistency, everyday 3rd basemen.

I have had a look around, and am not aiming for superstar level, just a consistent, good, controllable 3b.

This has led me to stay within the state by going for Brian Anderson.

What is his value?

He is batting 265 with 1HR and 10RBI in 68 AB's so far. The Marlins have put Ryan Cook and Villars on the block although they are 12-9 to start the season.

What would it take to get it done? I have options at 2nd / SS in the minors with Edwards, Fox, Jones, Brujan or could do something around Honeywell / baz / Banda.

Won't deal Franco or McKay at this point, could also look at Chirinos if you think it worked. Happy to get rid of Diaz as part of the deal?

Using OSFM rosters!

Thanks!

If the Braves were to include Soroka and Riley in a trade they would be able to acquire the elite of the elite trade options. We're talking high WAR pre-Arb guys like Matt Chapman, Gleybar Torres, Rafael Devers, etc.

That’s what I mean. Soroka and a mid tier prospect will get a deal done. Realistically the Rockies want prospects but they will look for a starter, whether it be a pitcher or position player.

How do you guys handle trading away/for more than 3 players? Do you limit yourself on the trades to a max of 3 per team? I've played the Show since 2008 but this is the first year I'm using the trade value/calculator.

I'm really wanting to pull of an Arenado trade to Philly but I don't want to swindle the Rockies.

Say I'm going for arenado and I'm sending back 4 pieces. I'll usually do the 4th as a separate trade and I'll swap a nobody from them

PHI gets: Arenado and player X
COL: gets player 1,2,3
.
In a separate deal you send player X back to COL for whomever. You can keep doing this as long as the numbers are lopsided. Force trades helps too.

The Braves would not trade Soroka, who is more valuable than Arenado alone. The value doesn't match up.

If you meant Ian Anderson then you're onto something but not Soroka

You could do Brujan + a lotto ticket or Edwards + Baz + Banda

Looks doable according to the calculator, but I certainly don’t want to underpay and am wondering what the forum says.
Frame it around the Mookie trade. One year of an elite position player got Verdugo and Jeter Downs. So try to come up with a package similar. I think Stott could definitely be the main piece, just have to figure out #2 although Eflin could work
