Quick counts - missing counts

I love quick counts and use it exclusively.

But I don't understand why 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 0-1 and 0-2 aren't options?

It's kind of an immersion killer for it to never be possible to have a 3 pitch strikeout, or a 4 pitch walk .. things that are obviously a big part of baseball.

I know it subtracts one from the count after the at bat, so "technically" a strikeout after a 1-2 or a walk after. 3-1 qualify ... But I don't think in real life people say "wow his pitch count only went up from 82 to 85, great strikeout!" ... They notice that it was 0-2 and then a strikeout .. that the pitcher mowed through him.

I don't see why these counts couldn't be included but then just NOT subtract one if it ends up being a 3 pitch K or 4 pitch walk.

I'd honestly also like to see 0-0 be included occasionally (maybe once or twice a game, as I know it goes against the "point"). It would still be nice to be able to have a first pitch homer or ground out or whatever.

It just seems a bit jarring realism wise to NEVER be able to be ahead or down 0-2, 3-0, 2-0, etc and I don't really understand why.

0-0,1-0 and 0-1 I don't think are possible but all the rest are.

I've played about 50 games so far and have certainly never seen 0-2, 2-0 or 3-0.

Re: Quick counts - missing counts

I would use quick counts if they had a list of every possible count and you were able to tick each one on or off and only the ones on would appear. I don't use it and a big part of that is because of what you're asking about, OP. I also felt with the counts it does have that pitch counts would get inflated a little too much for me personally. I'd enjoy the feature much more if every count was either 0-0, 1-0, or 0-1. I may even put 2-0 and 2-1 as possibilities, but I am not much of a fan for the 2 strike or 3 ball generated counts.

It's a real immersion killer to actually use quick counts. I understand why people use it, to get through games more quickly, but they give you the option of quick counts which is a great option, and then quick counts gets criticized, seems kinda I don't know......whiny.

IIt's not even close to being whiny. Quick counts is a nice feature that is lacking with some options. It needs to have every count available, you should be able to decide yourself which counts it can and cannot generate. The user should be able to turn it off and on whenever they want to in the game. They should be able to have an option that allows them to use it when batting, but have it off when pitching or vice-versa. The addition of the feature 6 years ago was nice, but it needs to be touched again and updated some.

Re: Quick counts - missing counts

I've noticed with quick counts... After an at bat, if you watch the pitch count on the scorebug it will minus 1 pitch every at bat. I think this is to keep the total pitch count to a realistic amount since not every count goes to 2-2 or 3-2, etc. IRL.

Nonetheless, I love quick pitch, I need it to be able to play nowadays. Wouldn't mind some customizable options and also an option to leave it turned on, so I don't have to turn it on every single game.

Fair enough. I stand by my take on it, but no disrespect.

I have used quick counts, and quick manage now and again, I just think it great that the show has so many options to get through 162 games, including the carry over.
