I've never played it, or MTO, that said, to get us really hyped, same old huge squared shoulders in the players. Not even a PS5 graphic morsel to get us pumped.

Remember, we've had the same player models since the PS3 era. I doubt they will ever be updated. Just like franchise mode. Just like the animation system.

I get it. DD makes tons of money, so why bother with improving anything else.

And I get that some people are perfectly happy with where Franchise mode is at and that's fine, but it doesn't mean it can't be improved. Same goes for the aforementioned player models and animation system.

I've switched to OOTP a few years ago as the sole baseball game I buy every year. Simply because it has the depth, historical data, and stat accuracy that The Show will never have.

It's not a "literal casino mini game" at all. It's a very popular, fully fledged out game mode. I would love to have meaningful updates to franchise mode just like the others, but DD is a great mode as well. No where near the randomness that the other ultimate team modes provide.

Be honest with things: We haven't seen significant evolution in commentary, Franchise sim, and player models in a long, long time. DD prints money via MTX, thus is a 'fully fledged game mode'.

This might be a very unpopular take, but I'd gladly pay an extra $10 via DLC for a "Franchise Sim Mode" that expanded the game. Include Create-A-Ballpark in it to lure in casual players.

It is the best of the “card” modes. But unfortunately it is simply a grind mode like any of the other ones. It is simply not for me. And all the resources really are used for it. So that stinks for hardcore franchise players like myself.

I do like to collect the cards....and I have been able to collect many great cards simply by playing Franchise mode and hitting levels and getting packs and pulling sweet cards.

I just never use them. LOL. I have tried and tried and tried to get into playing DD vs the CPU (I simply despise playing online.....so that will never happen unless I play friends) and it is a bore. Just not my thing.

And you think DD is holding these areas back?

I would speculate that commentary hasn’t evolved much because there is such a library of content built up over the last decade that it’d be a Herculean effort to really overhaul. That being said, the improvements the last few years to make things more conversational and also reference specific stats are very welcome.

If there’s anything their recent attempts to make franchise easier to jump into might tell us, it’s that they probably have stats showing a significant number of people have a tough time getting into it from the beginning. Maybe there are too many options for the average player, maybe it’s just not laid out intuitively, etc. Could be anything, but DD or no DD, I don’t know how much to expect in the way of real updates until SDS feels like they’ve addressed that aspect of it.

Player models...I can’t even imagine a fake scenario to rebut where DD effects those at all. Just totally unrelated aspects of the game.

I am passed the point of caring anymore I am enjoying playing my 21 season in 20 with 21 rosters. it's fun it's like I have the new game anyway
