Can people stop blaming the pandemic for things not being as good as they should be (based on the footage so far)....2k managed to produce a next gen game during the same period.

We should expect more than improved lighting. There was a big step up PS3-PS4 with the show...things like the grass, player models, hair, crowd, stadiums etc. SHOULD look better.

I’ll accept the game isn’t released yet so we haven’t seen the final product but no next gen images isn’t good at this stage...they were much more eager to show off previously, with a gen upgrade.

It makes me think they haven’t done much to improve the visuals. Not a deal breaker as the game looks good anyway but I can’t help but be disappointed.

Whether you want to blame the pandemic or not, history says The Show doesn't shoot out of the gates with a huge leap in year one with graphics, usually it's been year two for them with graphics.

People should tempur their expectations as far as graphics go for year one. In my opinion, The Show has always been a beautiful game, but it seems like SDS is always more focused on gameplay, as well it should. The Show could be the most beautiful game in the world, but if it plays like crap, then it's all for naught. The first year on PS4 hardly saw any improvements to the graphics. Just be patient.

The game already looks great. If they could just get some of the players with messed up proportions fixed, enhance the atmosphere and crowd and doing even more with the lighting I’ll be happy. Even things like expanded equipment, player editing, going back to “the show live” instead of daily rosters and maybe even having players wearing their actual uniforms during the all star game that would be great. I think the days of major graphical leaps are over, but I’m sure there will be noticeable enhancements.

And commentary. I always forget about commentary because it’s gotten to the point where I just play the game on mute and listen to something else. If they could do something with commentary that would be great.

I really wish they would go through and fix pitching animations. Make it look like they are throwing with some velocity/intensity and not just lobbing the ball over, like Pro yakyuu 19. With that said, the new fielding animations look great.

Me too. The motions desperately need work. I don’t want to say anything I can’t say about the tech test so I’ll just say what I’ve seen from other videos. It appears they’ve done some stuff this year editing the arm movements on many deliveries to give it more of a whip action and they’ve sped some up, but it doesn’t quite look right.

This has bugged me for years. 100mph fastballs float to the plate at what seems like <85mph. With the new ‘catcher to second’ animation/improvement, the ball will reach second from home about the same time it takes for a fastball to reach the plate from a pitch... unless they fix it!
