that's understandable. you really want to avoid making direct eye contact with the Coliseum: it's baseballs version of Medusa.

normally one would like to soak up the atmosphere at a ballpark but whatever great vibe Oakland had packed up & went on a Vegas vacation

also, if bad MLB ownership is translated to the Show, I guess the team budget should be one of the indicators you'd look to when picking a franchise in-game.
and probably the Pirates & Orioles shoestring budget combined with their on-field woes have added up to them being the two leading contenders for sale.
so now what it boils down to is do you want to play AL-style ball or NL

Medusa? 😂😂😂😂 As far as budgets go - I use the setups for sponsorships that are in Armor & Cycloniac’s thread & monitor teams from one year to the next to see if one needs to be changed from silver to gold to diamond - I use Cycloniac’s roster & have got great results in the past

As far as which league - I’ve always catered to the AL due to my Yankees but the DH rule won’t matter as I have it turned on to be universal as there are talks that it may change in the future and you have to set it permanently on the main set up screen

The Rangers could definitely use help. He are in one of the biggest markets in sports with two of the cheapest owners. They’ve been unwilling to offer big money since Darvish and they just made the city pay for the new stadium.

In projections on the depth chart all the way out to 2025 - it appears they have the lowest ratings across the board - at least based off of Cycloniac’s roster

The largest contract in team history is still Jason Kendall for $60M in 2000!

Oakland: The wealthiest owner in MLB at $2.9 billion and owns a team in one of the wealthiest areas of the country. But he continues to cry poor and oversee a never-ending search for a new ballpark that would be old enough to buy a West Coast IPA. They also were going to be the only team to not pay their minor leaguers to save a few bucks during a pandemic.

Tampa Bay: While the team is relatively successful they are run 100% like a business and 0% for a fanbase. With players constantly on the move fans can never get attached to any player and have to watch the team in a ballpark that is an embarrassment. Did that ball hit cat ring 4 or cat ring 5? On top of that the owner appears to be the only human on the planet who thinks splitting the teams season between two countries is possible and a good idea. If you cant get one ballpark built why not go for two.

Colorado: The only team to never win their division or a world series. Unlike the other teams on this list the Rockies actually spend money. But they have always seem to be on a different planet then the rest of the league and always behind the times. They play in a unique climate but they never seem to have a clear plan or idea on how to build a team in attitude. The team lost 90+ games in back to back years, trades away the best player in franchise history for almost nothing AND gives St. Louis $51M and the owner tells the media he thinks the team will compete for the playoffs. That is next level incompitance.
Ehhhh, as (I'm assuming) one of the few Canadians in the forum, I'm all for accepting whatever we can get. Send Oakland to Vancouver why you're at it!

You're 100% right from top to bottom though.

Marlins by far. Derek Jeter has ruined the team and stadium. That rebranding sucks too, it would be a challenge to get them righted again.

Re: WORST OWNER IN MLB

So - for the past few days - there has been plenty of great suggestions & the conversation has been phenomenal - I will most likely keep this thread going once I pick my franchise to keep you all updated on how it’s going OR I may choose to create a thread in the Baseball Dynasty forum - But as of now - these are the teams I am looking at:

American League

1. Baltimore
2. Seattle (Minority Group led by John Stanton)
3. Tampa Bay (Stuart Sternberg - it’s pretty bad when you are getting sued by you minority owners & they are looking to possibly relocate)

National League

1. Pittsburgh
2. NY Mets (Steve Cohen recently purchased the team - so I would step in as the current owner)
3. Colorado Rockies
4. Miami (This is only due to my ties as being a Yankee fan with Jeter at the helm & Mattingly as the manager)

Please let me know what you guys think
