Exclamation Chuck Lidell set to retire, reported on ESPN

Well it looks like the Iceman is about to thaw out. Reported on ESPN this afternoon at 11:13am, that Chuck Lidell, UFC highest earner is set to retire in the up coming days.

The 39 year old fighter has lost 4 of his last 5 fights.

1. Rampage - KO
2. Jardine- decision
3. Rashad Evans - KO
4. Shogun - TKO

Many has said the Iceman lost his sense of immortality when he got KO'ed by Rampage. Then got got knocked down and almost KO'ed by Jardine. Then 2 fights later get KO'ed by Rashad Evans and brutally beat down by Shogun in his last fight.

The Iceman has lost a couple of steps. His reaction time isn't as fast as it use to be which is why in his 5 last fights he was getting tagged by opponents quite a few times during a fight. Which was something that never use to happen before.

Well, as they say all good things come to an end. He's got nothing to be disappointed about. He had a long, exciting career. yeah he lost these last few fights but I don't think that tarnishes his legacy.

I know some people will say he maybe fought a few fights too long but I still wouldn't want to be on his bad side, haha.

Yeah....I say he should just be a full time coach at The Pit with Hack. Can't fight forever that is for sure. I hope he don't pull a Randy Coulture, reitre one year, fight another year, retire again and then come back fighting again.

His style won't allow him to do that.

Chuck feasted on wrestlers for most of his career because they were the perfect matchup for his style. With 205 becoming deeper and having more dangerous strikers, the fact that the games has evolved to the point where emphasis is based around being multidimensional, and his age it would be in Liddell's best interest to retire and keep his legacy in tact.

Smart move by Chuck, there's no reason for him to take any more beatings. He had a great career, time to move on to other things besides being a fighter.

I'll miss him. He had a great career and he left his mark on the UFC.

But he has lost a bit in his game and like a few have said, 205 is just getting BETTER and BETTER.

Still the baddest man with painted toes tho.
