I finished most of my fights with 95+ stamina and I was able to clean up in sparring, almost always getting at least one KO from the mount.

Got all the trophies, fortunately I got Submission of the Night on my first submission win. Got inducted into the Hall of Fame. There's a neat little cutscene for it. The credits are pretty cool, too.

I can now use my guy in exhibition and online. But he's a freaking 100 overall. And not a barely 100, but probably more of a 110 if the ratings could go that high. I got my attributes up to 77/80/77, but not any higher because of the penalties involved. Instead I spent the last few years sparring. Ended up with a handful of skills at 90+, which is super elite in the game. Even my submission offense, which I had no intention of ever skilling up, ended up at an 89 because I just had so many points.

Fortunately, I've got no desire to use him online, but other people will get similar guys, so people better get ready to do UFC fighter only fights.
What do you mean penalties involved?

One you get into the mid-70's, any time you raise one attribute (strength/speed/cardio), one or both of the other two will go down. Sometimes it's small, like I could go from 75 to 80 in speed as a heavyweight and only lose 1 point in strength. Sometimes it's large, though. Where I was at, if I wanted 5 more points in strength, I'd lose 5 in both speed and cardio.

That sounds terrible, but the way it works, you can still get a stat very high and keep the other two high as well, it just takes more time to do it. But for me, I was all about efficiency leveling my guy up, so since I was happy with my 77/80/77, it was certainly more efficient to instead spend my time sparring and leveling up my fighting skills.

Currently 11-2 in the 3rd year of my Middleweight career. I chose the Boxer/Wrestler combination. My first loss came in my 5th fight against some no-namer. I think his game name was Ben Evans. Didn't take the fight seriously enough and caught a right in the middle of the 2nd that took me out.

2nd loss was a 3rd round KO to Michael Bisping at UFC 125. Should of kept my eye on that damn head kick...

Just got a 3rd round KO of Jason MacDonald in the main event of Ultimate Fight Night 45. Was definitely my most satisfying win so far. He kept shooting in the entire fight, probably took me down a total of 6 times. Got him with a straight/ducking hook combo. Man I love this game.

I'm 8-2 in my heavyweight career. Fighters name is Marcus "The Headhunter" Johnson. He's a boxer/wrestler fighting out of Las Vegas.

Anyway he's knocked out a few guys in spectacular fashion, including Mark Coleman,Heath Herring and Eddie Sanchez.

My two losses came against some no namer via decision and a 3rd round KO by Mirko Cro Cop in a fight that was in the bag until I did something stupid.

Johnson's next fight will be on the undercard of UFC 119 when he steps into the Octagon and takes on Gabriel Gonzaga.

On another note, have any of you seen anybody actually trash talk a fighter in one of his interviews yet? You know it'll say something like "Mark Coleman talks about his upcoming fight with whomever". They always have something nice to say. Screw that,I wanna see some trash talk.

Re: Official UFC 09 Undisputed Career progression thread

I started a few careers, but the one I played the most was my LW one. I can't remember my exact record but it was about 30-9. I won the title three times, losing in my first defense each time except the last time because that was my last fight. Only got my OVR to a 79. There's a gotta be a something I'm missing with training.

Gonna start up a MW so I can get an exciting fight out of Spider down the line.

Re: Official UFC 09 Undisputed Career progression thread

I started my career on expert and I'm 3-1 so far. All 3 victories have been won by kimura submission. I had to go and make sure it was actually on expert because I only won by submission a couple times in the demo. My one loss was the first fight which I lost by decision. I'm trying to go through the process as slow as possible because I don't want to have a 50 overall guy and get pounded by the top 16 guys but Joe Silva has me fighting every 2 months. How many years should it take until my guy is as good as guys like Mark Bocek (lower tier UFC fighters in the game)?

Re: Official UFC 09 Undisputed Career progression thread

Went Welterweight.

Already had my first rival. I'm 8-2, but both losses were to the same dude. Knocked my *** out both fights. Well I'm training for another fight and Dana White says, "Hey help me out I need you to fill in for so and so for a fight in two weeks". Well it's against the guy that whupped me both fights. SO I jump on it.

This guys a great striker. In my past two fights I was sticking and moving, and he loved that. He just waited and waited, and worked me down until BOOM! So I lost twice with that strategy. The third fight I said **** it, I'm going all offense. I was on him like white on rice from the beginning. My guys a kick boxing specialist so I kept rocking him. Totally different fight the 3rd time, knocked his *** out in the 2nd. I was so excited that I flipped off my TV when the dude went down....

That's when I knew it was time for bed
