To just a sport based on the actions of a single person is very singleminded and just dumb IMO. You can find idiots everywhere.

Look at OS, we have so many damn "Bad Cops" threads, but most everyone defends the profession...how is this any different?
This post is full of greatness. Great post and I agree with it all.

Brock can say what he wants. and I bet there is a mess load of ppl right now around the world who are as big as brock who are thinking in the big of there mind that they can do this. So in a few years thats when the comp for brock will come, and then you will see a super heavyweight division.

But *******s aren't new. They're not a product of modern athletics. Class isn't going out the window anymore now than it was when Ty Cobb and dozens of other players were sliding in spikes high trying to hurt guys and a team was taking bribes to throw a World Series.

There's always gonna be people that are gonna be dicks.

It's not like this happens after every fight. Every time something like this happens, you have 5 times where the guys congratulate each other after a fight and show some mutual respect.

I love how the Yahoo! Sports writers are flipping out over this whole thing...when we have the stuff mgoblue mentioned going on on a daily basis in all other sports.

I'm not saying GSP isn't classy but it's a good example of the definition of class being a bit off here I think (not yours personally in the whole sport itself). After that fight GSP said Alves was his toughest fight yet. That seems to be something that's looked at as classy. Does anyone actually believe that though? He domintated him for 5 rounds while being injured for half of it. What's that say about his other oppoents if that was the toughest?

Brock could've said "I came,I saw,I kicked his ***,I'm the champ!" or could've said "Oh,it was a tough fight,he did really well,I'm looking forward to my next fight and hope my oppoent is just as tough" the first is the truth but would be looked down upon, the second is total BS but would be considered classy.

Though to some extent it's the same in every sport. Team wins by 40 "They played a tough game,we just shot better at the line and executed better"...yah,that's what happend.

Lesnar's a love hate kind of guy. Either way, after his fiasco after the fight his ratings are gonna go up because everyone wants to see what this guy is going to do next whether they like him or not

Re: Post-Fight Antics Dim Lesnar’s Afterglow at UFC 100

I blame post-fight interview drama on the pre-fight camera drama they try to stir up to promote their PPV. Also, Joe Rogan doing the post-fight interview doesn't help. He sometimes steers the conversation down a direction that isn't exactly professional. Just listen to that interview above:

"Even after you BEAT Frank Mir DOWN, you were still upset and you got in his face. Tell us why you're still upset?"

Why even steer the conversation in that direction other than to hear him blow up? Unprofessional. Starting off with "beat him down" shows a bit of disrespect towards the other competitor. To then steer the conversation towards why he's still pissed off at the competitor really turns the interview down the wrong road. I've never once heard a post-fight for another form of fighting ask the fighter how it felt to "beat the guy down." Perhaps if he used "how does it feel to win?" There's no need to steer the direction toward drama. It fits perfectly for what I've come to expect from Rogan, but it's not exactly professional. As I said earlier, I heard Rogan use the word "douchebag" on live air. While not offensive to me, it's still unprofessional, even if he's just repeating what someone else said. That's the kind of stuff I'm referring to when I use the word unprofessional.

So yes, Lesnar was unprofessional with the way he went about the post-fight interview, but it's not like the entire presentation isn't slightly unprofessional to begin with at times. After hearing douchebag, I really don't think hearing Brock talk about jumping on his wife too unprofessional. In fact, it fits the mood and tone of the event.

I'm not sure how GSP saying his opponent was his toughest opponent despite him beating him down is not classy.

I guess I don't really get the point you're making. GSP might not have been exactly truthful. If he was totally honest, he would have said something like, "Well, that went well. I thought he was gonna be tough, but he never really touched me. Either I'm just incredible, or he disappointed everyone." But honesty like that isn't class.
