Re: UFC 112

Dana White said Edgar is the number 1 contender and will face Penn next. He hopes the fight happens on this card.

So we have:

Silva vs. Belfort
Penn vs. Edgar
Hughes vs. Gracie

I really wanna see Belfort and Silva but I have a hard time believing that Belforts aggression wont work against him in that fight. Penn is my favorite fighter so I always enjoy watching him but he should walk through Edgar, similar to what he did to Joe Daddy when they fought. Ive got zero interest in seeing Hughes, didnt like him before and never will.

This could be an interesting PPV. Looking forward to what else they get lined up.

Re: UFC 112

I could have sworn at the last fight night that they said Maynard will be facing Penn next, or am I just crazy?

They speculated that he could with a win but it was never announced as a sure thing. After seeing Maynard fight Diaz, hes lucky he didnt get the shot at Penn because he would get murdered, he needs more fights under his belt before he gets a shot, imo.

UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi: Silva & Penn Set to Defend Titles; First Outdoor UFC Event

http://www.mmafighting.com/2010/01/2...rt-penn-edgar/

Quote:
For the first time in UFC history, the fights will take place outdoors when the promotion debuts with UFC 112 on April 10 in Abu Dhabi, the UFC announced Wednesday.

As MMA Fighting previously reported, the two main events set for the card are title fights between champ Anderson Silva against Vitor Belfort and titleholder BJ Penn versus Frankie Edgar. Also, Renzo Gracie will make his debut against former champion Matt Hughes.

As of two weeks ago, the UFC didn't have venue when it announced that Flash Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, purchased a 10 percent stake in Zuffa, the parent company of UFC and WEC.

The UFC has decided on the Concert Arena in Ferrari World, a theme park in Yas Island, where Beyonce, Jamiroqui, Kings of Leon and Aerosmith played shows last year.
