The lighter divisions only make sense for offensive fighters going for the win within the distance. That is what Pettis does. Benson has zero interest in putting himself at any serious risk.
So he isn't stopping guys, so that means he is bad for the sport? Where is the hate for GSP who hasn't stopped anyone in a long time? He's also the biggest draw in MMA.
Frankly, no lighter weight guy (155 and under) is a draw. BJ is the only one I recall that was ever a draw.

Just because a finish doesnt happen doesnt mean the fighter wasn't trying to finish. Also Henderson was not in a boring fight yet in the UFC as far as I can remember

Pettis-Grant, assuming it is the next fight, will be a good one. Grant has looked awesome at LW.

I cant see Dana passing up Pettis/Aldo for the Super Bowl Wknd card. Fox wants a big card and this would be a true superfight. Sucks for guys like
Grant and Lamas.

Lets hope you're wrong. Swanson, Lamas and Mendes all have legit claims for a title shot, as does Grant. Let the "superfight" talk wait till he actually defends the belt.

Here's what I'd do. I'd have Aldo move up to 155 for a shot at the belt. I'd pay Grant to sit out until April/May. I'd have Lamas and Mendes fight for an interim FW belt. If Aldo beats Pettis, the winner of the fight becomes the full FW champ. If Aldo loses, he drops back down and fights the winner.

Swanson and Edgar are the odd men out but Swanson lost to Lamas and Edgar has only won once since the Aldo lost. Have them fight each other in NJ on SB wknd.

I'd change it to have Lamas and Mendes fight for the belt and if Aldo loses, then he gets the first shot to win it back if he wants to go back down.

The question will be what the UFC wants to allow guys to do. Will they allow someone to hold 2 belts at the same time? There are too many guys unless you are talking about the 2 lightest divisions.
