If you want a team of 99 diamond players i have no problem with it but if 2k needs to make the gameplay a proper basketball sim first so you can't hide behind the player's beastly stats. Not spamming steal as soon as your oponent gets a defensive rebound or enters the post. Or inbounding at half court with your MJ in a full sprint so you can just turbo into the paint. Or playing 1-3-1 zone. The list goes on. I can beat people that play like this but it doesn't feel like proper basketball. And i'm not whining. As soon as someone suggests a change they get called out for whining. morons...

I'm not saying the game is to blame for all my losses but it has its problems. It's not a proper sim but i can look past that. I just get annoyed when i lose to someone chucking 3s because the help defense is stupid and i can't play defense properly because 2k's servers are messed.

Anyway this wasn't the point of this thread. In other "ultimate team" modes (eg FIFA), you will run into someone with a Messi/Ronaldo (the 2 best players in the world) maybe once in every 100 games because they're extremely expensive/rare.

But in 2k it's pretty easy to get anyone you want, so they should at least add some kind of system where you can't use all these HoF players all at once. It would result in a larger variety of lineups as well. Right now there's like 15 players that make-up most starting lineups.

some people have to just humble themselves and accept the fact that they are going to lose occasionally. ive beat great teams with my mainly bronze team when i first started. now that my team is a bit better, i will still play someone who is better than me with their silvers and bronzes. if you can ball, you can ball...bottom line. good players help, but by no means are you going to lose unless you have a stacked roster. i would say 75% of winning is user skill and strategy.

i did man, i'll admit, i'm not really giving you the benefit of the doubt here. i'll just give some advice. i used to be below average at best because everybody did the steal and fastbreak b.s. every game and i had no idea what i was doing because you can't adjust your defense exactly like last gen...and i'll admit, i was not the greatest at using my guys.

i learned that spamming the steal button leaves them vulnerable to you running right past them for a wide open shot. people that do that get a ton of reach-in fouls which sends you to the free-throw line a lot for easy points. adjust your defensive play and watch them to make sure they don't abuse fast breaks. once you stop their fast break offense, you win. if you force them to slow down the pace, they usually have no idea what they are doing.

practice transitioning to defense, and off-ball defense. both go a really long way online

Most of these cats would be stuck in the 7th seed without their posterizing Jordan so I can understand their backlash. But I would agree with you their could be a rating limits based on which seed your in. Otherwise collecting Silvers are useless. But don't blame the players, blame 2k. A lot of people playing this mode were in diapers when Jordan ran the yard, and they only know how good players are based on which color 2k gives them or their attributes lol. (to this day I'm baffled that 95/96 Hersey Hawkins and detlef schrempf are silver while 96/97 Hornacek is gold). The problem is I actually don't mind someone having an all gold team. I believe however their should be a consequence for doing such. Like in Domination mode, where you earn less MT for running with a stronger lineup which prevents you from growing your squad. Team balance and Chemistry should play more of a role in multiplayer modes. I know a lot of you like your MJ at point guard and Lebron at center, but honestly that's just stupid.
