I get that more is better but with those ten you have everything you need for him. You can go without limitless, corner specialist (isn't a must have for PGs, especially if they're your primary ball handler), and mid range DE. I don't see any other most have badges for him.
Is deep range deadeye a must have though? I got it on a couple guys and I hardly see it light up even on close outs

It isn't, but I'll take over the other ones he doesn't have. Tear dropper could replace it if someone uses floater with him.

I think if you do that you're still missing things. No tear dropper for a 6'0" PG? Or Ankle Breaker for your primary ball handler? And Kidd finishes inside really well for a guy who doesn't dunk. Tireless scorer and relentless finisher light up and help with that (tireless in other ways too). And I disagree on Corner Specialist and Mid Range DE but maybe that's more for how I play specifically so I won't argue those. Also not even talking about the other little things you can get from extra badges (extra rebounds/possessions from hustle rebounder, more success taking charges, taking advantage of flashy passes, bruiser for a small drain on your opponent).

You might be able to get the badges that you absolutely need on Paul but all those other badges can combine to an extra 3-5 points a game. And sometimes that's all it takes to get a win.

Like you said It's all about play style when it comes to the badges that are must have. I forgot about tireless, that'll go over DE for sure. For the badges CP3 comes with I don't think only having 10 slots really hurts him.

You can get what you "need" on him, but need is a relative judgment. One doesn't "need" a 96-rated Diamond PG, but one wants to upgrade to one if one otherwise would be using a 92-rated Amethyst PG.

So, the relatively small number of badges is an issue when evaluating the relative value/worth of a player.

And if his matchup is carrying over 20 badges, then his limitation to 10 definitely hurts him.

I don't see how height makes a difference. I don't shoot contested shots though, so I probably wouldn't. PGs don't get many blocks, and it's more about your ability to stay in front of your man than anything else. I shut down a Lebron last night with Moncrief by staying in front of him.

I mean, if one of his is defensive stopper, what difference does it make how many badges his matchup has?

Because then his matchup has advantages that this CP3 does not have.

But if you mean that CP3's Defensive Stopper will negate opposing shooting badges, there are other ones that it will not negate, which are good to have.

Everything is relative.

On height: I think height matters. Not the end-all, be-all, but it matters. In my (anecdotal) experience, there is a clear difference in ability to defend, say, a Magic, with another Magic, rather than with a Payton.

Not apples to apples, as Amethyst Magic is not only 5" taller, but also +21 Strength and, perhaps more importantly, +14 Shot Contest.

But Payton, compared to this CP3, is +4" and also +3 Shot Contest.

The problem with CP3 is not only that he's shorter, but he also doesn't have elite Shot Contest either. Probably helps to boost his Contest with a +9 Shoe, but he's still just not going to be as effective in defense, all other things being approximately equal, than someone who is 3, 4, or more inches taller.

And, on offense, lack of height also has ramifications on blockability of his jump shots and layups.

He's a hell of a player. Don't get me wrong. Just saying that he's not very compelling any more, despite his recent boost, compared to other Diamond PGs already out and which can be re-sold at any time.
