Any year you choose you’ll get a great Celtics and Lakers squad, but I think the key is looking at the other teams. If you pick 83/84 it gets pretty top heavy. Bulls aren’t a playoff team yet, no Pistons, 76ers were a first round exit team, the West was incredibly weak. And not only team wise but no Jordan, Stockton, Malone, Barkley, Hakeem, Ewing, etc..

If you choose the 85/86 or even 86/87 season you get all those extra players, as well as a more competitive league overall team wise.

I play 2K11 to death!!! Still my favorite game of all I own, and I just load a season up and then play random games. And then I enjoy reading up on the stats from that season - even box scores from real games and then play that game and see how close it comes to the real game played.

Yes, we picked up 2K18 for the XBox One. The boys enjoy it. I played a game the other day and got killed!! LOL. But it's fun - and a very well designed game. Problem is the controls are so different from 2K11.

Would love to see 84-85! 92-93 would also be a good one (and maybe not so much work for the creator).

You guys are legends for looking to do this. The only thing I see so far is that the CAP system is awful this year!
