Re: Blocked shots

blocking is fine...it's the slider set you're using. I didn't experience this lack of block problem until I use simworld sliders. I was using Pokes slider before then and was getting anywhere from 5 to 8 blocks a game. Certain sliders just break things when messed with.

Calling BS on this. The other users's stats from his thread tend to disagree...

Proof:

Spoiler

So as we were saying earlier in the thread...the Blocking needs to be addressed via a patch, and no the slider set you use does not have an effect on it.

Re: Blocked shots

it is the slider set u use...in my post I didn't mention I also was using his old slider set which blocking was fine. You can see screen shots with guys getting a lot of blocks too. Right now i'm using a his set but edited it a few things because I'm not feeling his new set. Like my block isn't maxed out at (60), my contest shot isn't at some crazy high number either (80), which causes the CPU to just raise their hands instead of going for the block. My defense sliders is of someone else set. Like I said before there's nothing wrong with blocking in the game it's sliders sets that screw things up. There's a reason no one was complaining about blocking when the game first came out, because know one had sliders out yet that would break the game. Hell I even see ppl putting on ball defense at 75+ why the hell would u do that when that adds to the players attributes? You won't see many blocks when you are preventing the player from driving to the rim in the first place.

Hell I even found in some sliders while playing man to man defense was perfect and while in others I was ice skating.

I agree on this one. I used Poke's sliders and I'm getting 1-3 bpg with some topnotch shot blockers. I noticed too that when I defend on a post player and we have contact, then i stripped the ball when his hands are up, it doesn't count as block. It counts as turnover. zzzzzz.

Re: Blocked shots

IMO this is 2 out of the last 3 years where they havent got shotblocking right.

2K14 was on point; 13 and 15 have been off.

Re: Blocked shots

I don't know if anyone has ever noticed, but I'm 90% sure blocked shots is at least partially tied to On Ball Defense in addition to Vertical/Quickness. ODB is what sort of "holds them in place" for the block animation to trigger Vert allows them to jump and quickness makes them quick enough. That's why you get too many blocks on the perimeter by guards often times (has been true for years) but the bigs don't get enough because on ball d doesn't trigger when the ball-handler begins the layup/dunk animation and their on ball d is too low for it to matter on the perimeter most of the time except for when the chase down animations are triggered. And notice most sliders jack up the ODB and voila you get too many blocks by guards.

Re: Blocked shots

Also, there's the problem that everything that SHOULD be counted as a block isn't because blocks(the stat) are tied to certain animations. Then there's the additional problem of not every shot animation can be blocked (and count). Live ball can hit a hand if the Hands rating is high enough but because its not tied to the animation it doesn't count. Most of the block animations take place in Close Shot range. It's very difficult to block Inside Shots, Layups and Dunks and the shots that can be blocked mostly come from Close Shot range but most slider sets turn that tendency way down when its the range where you get floaters and eurosteps (from an AI tendency standpoint) and the layups that can be blocked (especially chasedowns).
