2K23 MyNBA

Besides the "use old teams in MyNBA", is there anything new this year? MyNBA (franchise mode) hasn't changed in about 3 years. Using old teams is not enough of a change.... I'm tired of all the same dialogue and interactions between players and GM.

Well the "Its not enough of a change" when this was something that ALOT of people either tried to replicate on PC or even asked about.

A good chunk of people are from these older eras and are overjoyed about MyNBA because there are roster creators for retro gaming and all. Its damn near a dream for some, but understandable not for you.


Since that isnt for you though... What changes would you like to see in the Mode actually if NBA Eras isnt fitting for you?

Yall are weird lol. What's wrong with him asking is anything new? It has been the same for years. He is not interested in MyNba Eras. Is he not allowed to ask? Just give a answer. To the op no nothings new. I was looking forward to something new also. They added finals mvp and improved player progression (yeah right) but that's all to my knowledge.

I really wish they would add more stat overlays. They been the same for years. I would like to see more of the opponents stats instead of pausing the game to look. More immersive. I'm happy for the guys that's looking forward to MyNba Eras but come on 2k you coulda added SOMETHING to the regular mode. Oh yeah they tweaked the rivals games. Suppose to be more aggressive play or something

I don't think they updated glitches of the D-League randoms becoming 99s.


Think the game would need to be played to see if retired becoming coaches is back in since it was taken out last I played 2k21.


Draft presentation is probably the same.


Coach hiring and trade logic probably the same.




The Era thing is nice glad people finally got something they have been begging 2k to do. The mode for me would probably be a one and done, never cared to rewrite history in games. I don't have the time to want to check to see if everything kind of matches up with what actually happen. I will mainly stick with the start today mode and work with the future if I do get the game. They definitely updated the GLeague glitch... well hopefully we wont see it 2k23. MyNBA Eras is def a great upgrade and understandably aint for everyone, but all we can go off of is the Courtside report. This is DEFINITELY more effort they did this year than last lol

Retired players do become coaches still? Saw Lillard become a coach in NBA 2K20 last gen?

There was a thread about what people would like in MyNBA a few weeks back but what about coach hiring? I def agree on Draft presentation too.. what do you envision there?

Can you expand on the rivals thing? Are you saying they added something in MyNBA to make rival games more intense?

Revamped Team Rivalry – When teams clash on the court, we now have a more in-depth system to calculate the “heat index” between two teams. This looks at numerous factors such as their history, rivalry status, and more to help manifest how the players take to the court. Games with a high heat index will result in a more physical, aggressive game between the two teams. As an example, we knew we wanted the Bad Boys Pistons to really feel like they were running the “Jordan Rules” when going up against the Bulls. As such, when Isiah and MJ battle each other, expect a rougher game than usual, and that system will extend to any other bitter rivalry across all Eras.

This is a solid list. I'm a current season MyNBA player so the Eras don't really do that much for me either. I'm sure that I'll at least take a look at them and I would be totally for seeing Eras expanded in the future (by adding things like carry-over saves and Normalized season stats). Those things might get me on board with playing past seasons even more.

I'm hoping that there are things that they cleaned up that they didn't mention in the blog. As of now, it sounds like (for current season players) the new Rivalry and Injury systems are the main things updated from 2K22 and those are both things that I'd have to see to believe. With that said, I'm looking forward to really digging in and seeing what changes they have in store... Not too much longer.

I wouldn't bet on finding anything new that was worth discussing. After playing Kobe for a bit, the "MyERA" won't keep my attention much. I have no doubt the gameplay will be good. But I'm waiting to game hit discount to purchase.

Not sure how anyone thinks MyNBA Eras is anything less than a groundbreaking addition to the game. It's not just about reliving the past, it's about how you can change it to experience any number of possible "what if" scenarios. Drafts, free agency, trades, everything can play out differently. Maybe Kobe leaves LA during those rough early 00s years. Maybe the CP3-to-Lakers trade goes through. Maybe Lebron stays in Cleveland and finally gets some help. Maybe he never leaves the Heat. Maybe Kawhi stays in Toronto, or even in San Antonio. Maybe KD never joins the Warriors (lol nah that bus rider was always gonna hitch a ride). The list goes on and on, and that's ignoring the 80s and 90s eras completely.

Then they added the new Rivalry system, so any rivalry in any era actually feels and plays like a true rivalry (or so they say). That's massive! Could they add a few more contract features like sign & trades or buyouts? Sure. But what they've given us with MyNBA Eras fundamentally changes the entire offline experience.

I said the retired players becoming coaches stopped in 2k21, I know it was in 2k20. Once the nextgen happen it was removed and had a glitch because you couldn't switch teams in the offseason and help with hires because coaches would be erased.



Draft presentation, would be nice to have a walk up kind of thing at least. Not everyone will watch, but at least have that kind of feature instead of just the picture of guy in jersey. If no walk up maybe some motion pictures aftr the pick, have the guy dribbling, pointing, holding ball, etc in the new jersey with stats on side maybe some good comparisons instead of the usual bad ones they give.
