Saw a couple cool things cpu Paul George did this morning.

He did a jump pass out of a PNR that was beautiful. Then he attacked a close pit with a shot fake and then pull up. Two things I rarely see from the cpu. Maybe it’s IQ or talent related but PG and Kawhi killed me.

I took a bit of a break and I again reminded myself that when you let the game be a game, and separate it from today's NBA -- there is plenty of fun to be had.

Does that go directly against Czar's mantra of "Don't play video games, play basketball"?

True!

I bought the game, played it for maybe 4 hours, and requested a refund. Just not for me...not saying it's a bad game.

Nah, Czar has always been realistic and is to this day.
It was never about seeking out a 1:1 representation of the NBA from a video game. It’s futile. Once I started understand that, Enjoying these games became a lot easier…

I get that it’s a video game, but it’s just certain little things that could be tweaked and I’d be ok with it. Obviously, fast breaks needs to be more effective without the suction cup defense. If I’m on a one on one break with Giannis, someone like Chris Paul shouldn’t stop me in my tracks unless he grabs me to foul.

The other thing I feel could be tweaked is a more “risk vs reward” strategic system. Seems like clogging the paint doesn’t really mean much since defenders can close out to shooters with relative ease. Guarding the perimeter tight doesn’t mean anything either when defenders are able to stick close to even great ball handlers like glue.

They took away the option to play aggressive vs conservative (even though I’m not even quite sure what that meant gameplay wise). If you play aggressive, it should force more turnovers at risk for fouling more or giving up easy baskets, while playing conservative means you don’t take risks, but you also don’t get in the penalty. That’s just a few, but you get the idea.

I did tweak a few sliders to make it play a little better for me, and overall I enjoy this game. It’s just knowing that it could be SO much better that frustrates me.

I'm with you on that one. The double-teaming against post mismatches really gets me, because it was perfect when the game shipped, and I don't know what happened after that. It just went away.

I don't know how offline people don't just hunt for mismatches and post up all day, lol.

Well, after Vucevic has missed his fourth straight bunny because Terry Rozier is standing three feet behind him with his arms raised...
