Also this year in particular it will be much more interesting and fun to build teams around A'ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Diana Taurasi, Stewie, Sabrina, Cameron Brink, Chelsea Gray, Griner, and Caitlin Clark then it would be to play with Kostas Papanikolaou, Sergio Llul, and 12 guys named Nikola (no offense).
I agree with you about the WNBA and I like it because I am a man who watches NBA, Euroleague, Greek League, Eurocup, FIBA Champions league and WNBA, and unlike you, i appreciate all players of all leagues because I have seen players from the Greek league play on the NBA and the WNBA, and I have seen the Greek national team beat team USA in the semifinal of world cup in 2006.And those Nikolas you are referring to haughtily were going to win the gold in the Olympics if Curry didn't turn on God mode

2K would need to get the rights to all the Euroleague teams which would probably cost a lot. They would need to put everyone's arena in the game. The biggest problem would probably getting everyone's face scan which would probably mean going over to Europe with their scanning equipment.

They'd also need to make the rosters with accurate attributes, tendencies, and badges.

I'm not opposed to having more leagues in the game but that seems like a lot of work for 2K.

How has it taken them this long to realize that it actually was something that needed to be adjusted?

There is a whole range of issues, inaccuracies, and shortcomings from small to fairly big (I'd put player/court ratios in the fairly big category) that would result in a a better overall product and it's completely reasonable for fans and paying customers to point these flaws out in hopes that 2K will address them. Is it realistic? Maybe not, but that doesn't mean we should accept it and stop calling out flaws with the game.

Just to point out, since you’ve mentioned this a few times.

By technical metrics, the player/court ratio was always correct. They’ll still attest to that. They’re technically “off” now, but how that translates to gameplay is TBD. Could be for the better, it may raise more complaints. I’m already seeing complaints of players being “too small” or not seeing a difference. The player eye test isn’t all that reliable.

Adjusting it (and this isn’t the first time, just the most drastic) isn’t so much some admission of guilt as much as it’s an attempt to address player concerns with spacing. It’s much more than an exercise in click dragging and expanding as it affects everything that happens inside the lines. It was just the right time to take that leap.

I have reduced the height of players and nothing changes for the better. If nothing else because I know players are smaller than normal I feel it's unrealistic and big centers now feel like power forwards.
What needs to be done is improve the collisions and footplanting so that we don't see exaggerated animations but more subtle collisions that you can get out with subtle thumbstick movements.
This specific change in NBA 2k25, will be very hard to quantity. Along with the ground up new dribbling system and the new proplay animations I am not so sure one can differentiate the effects of the change in ratio of players to court.
My problem with the logic of the new ratio is that the players are smaller compared to the basket. So Wembanyama s head will be lower from the rim? That would be ridiculous. It would be smarter to make the court wider.

To be clear my comment was about interest and marketability. Not about skill or appreciation of the leagues. There's just no Euroleague players who would garner the same level of interest that video game version of Caitlin Clark will.

If it's a conversation of including Euroleague vs WNBA it's an easy decision.

I played with the Euroleague teams back in 2015 or whenever they had it in the game. They had multiple guys for multiple years who had incorrect heights, stats, and were on the wrong club. They already proved that they just couldn't maintain Euroleague.

As a European I don't care about Euroleague. The only thing I care about is eras. They should be as accurate as possible and I hate that 2K only cares about online and this stupid card game crap
