Re: You Knew It Was Coming... Points In The Paint.

Sorry for de-railing the topic slightly but I am being utterly destroyed in the paint by the AI on Pro difficulty.

Being a total noob when it comes to Basketball and it's defensive strategies have you guys got anything to recommend in terms of defensive setups/strategies to combat the onslaught?

I'm surrendering stupendous amount of points in the paint in my GM save with the Bulls (who unless I'm mistaken are one of the best defensive teams currently in the NBA).

I agree with the OP there is a reason I'm second to last in my my player career on the Houston rockets. way too many offensive rebound for the cpu.

my main concern is the arsenal of contact layup animations that the CPU seems to have that let's them score majority of the time in the paint compared to what a USER gets other than that I'm fine

This - Anderson Verajo is the second coming of Hakeem with the putbacks he gets.

If you play decent defense you can force the CPU out of the paint. It's simple, play better defense.

Re: You Knew It Was Coming... Points In The Paint.

With the CPU hitting 90% of contested shots near the paint and the fact that you can't intense-D them and push them like they do to you when they get in the paint, I would say it needs massive improving.

Also, getting bodied on your way up for a layup needs to stop too. Get around your defender and going up for a layup through a clear lane just to have the CPU center come over and almost cripple you for no foul is a bit aggressive.

Don't be coy. If you push them back, as I do since I play defense well, they will just pull up and hit the contested jumper. I force the offense to the end of the shot clock almost every possession. The cheese is crazy this year. Even dudes like Chris Smoove are saying it.

If they would just reduce the high percentage contested shots in the paint and CPU rebounds and putbacks, the defense would be fine.

the offensive rebound is still CRAZYyyyyy...why 2k. Why would 2k not change this for 2k15. Why keep the same engine from last year.

Re: You Knew It Was Coming... Points In The Paint.

for those who say offensive rebounding is crazy, post pics please because the hyperbole is running rampant.

" 90% of contested shots go in"

" the computer doesn't miss on putbacks"

its to the point i think people are playing a totally different game than i am. the game has issues, but posts are making it sound like they are only merely at the mercy of the cpu.
