Workaround for Downloading Newest Roster

Found a workaround for being able to download the newest roster and being able to edit it. (on the PS4 at least)

-Sign out of PSN.

-Load game but don't sign in when it prompts you. Just press O

-Go to "options" and create roster. Choose "new roster" option at top. Save the roster.

-Now sign in to PSN and connect to 2K servers.

-Vola, you now have the newest roster.

Good find...i had to start the game with my internet connected at 1st and the close out and turn off the internet and when I relaunched the game without the internet connected sure enough the new roster was there.

Great find cdk10! Been looking for this for a week.

Mods, this should be stickied as it is a confirmed workaround for this issue until (hopefully) a fix is found. Also perhaps the workaround itself gives a clue to the devs as to what the problem is.


Just to clarify, you dont need to sign out before starting the game or reboot the game. In fact you need to be signed in at the main menu intially to "download" the newest roster. In other words, you need to have the "New Content is Available, Return to the Main Menu" box pop up. Once you've seen that, return to the main menu, let it load, then sign out of PSN at anytime.

Now go to Create Roster, and if you're signed out it'll say "New Roster" at the top tab instead of "Official Roster" and "Injury Free."

When I first tried the OP workaround it gave me the 10-24 roster (which was already an improvement). When I signed back in, got the pop up message, returned to the 2k main menu, then signed out and went to Create Roster>New Roster, I got today's update and was able to edit and save.

So far, I have not encountered any bugs using this workaround.

The servers were down for me for like 30 minutes yesterday, so I took advantage of that to get the roster. Something good finally came from the server being down.

Can somebody tell me what the issue actually is? Are you saying if you download the newest roster, you can't edit it?

It you attempt to download and save/edit the most up to date rosters (the ones used in play now) while connected to the internet etc the game gives you a older version of the rosters...

Oh wow. Is this something 2K acknowledges and is gonna fix?
