It's not a matter of skill. It's a matter of this crap being overly broken. To a point where my guys are missing WIDE OPEN layups for christ sake.
That's definitely a matter of skill. When I started in October CPU was hitting 78% on me habitually. Now I get em down to 50 or 45 if I focus (and I'm playing with the Nets which means no capable interior defenders outside of Lopez and no rebounding whatsoever).

Now that I learned how my teammates react when I get beat even a little I learned never to get beat or else my whole defense will breakdown. I learned not to press triangle or square unless I'm sure I'll get the block/steal. I learned to ALWAYS contest every shot. I learned that as soon as the player releases the ball for a shot/layup to hold the Left trigger down to prevent easy offensive rebounds. Doing all of those things consistently takes skill and you'll see the results in the box score.

Re: Anyone have any tips when it comes to playing on HoF/Simulation?

I have SOME success guarding my guy, but he still tends to blow right by me when I have my hands up (I've worked on NOT using the block button).

When it comes to my teammates defending, thats another story. I have no control over Gortat-juwan or Afflalobe.

The offense, I know I need to work on because it's either pick & roll or 3 shot (even though whatever mid range shots those people take are seemingly made 20% of the time).

Also, the fact that you keep saying you're 47, I don't see how thats relevant >_<.

The main issue here is not my defense, I'm defending them just fine. It's the fact that they make shots they SHOULDNT make EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I am always RIGHT UP ON my guy and they still make the shots. Don't tell me I'm not defending well when I am.

Patch has hopefully addressed these issues.

When you are my age and you always play guys 16 to 35, you'll understand lol.

Reactions are much easier when you are younger. I'm just suggesting that if you are younger, which you probably are, that gives you an edge over someone like me who is almost the oldest guy playing the game (second oldest of all the guys I've ever met who play the game).

Without seeing your gameplay, everything we say here is a shot in the dark.

My guess is you are struggling on the offensive end. Offense is always the best place to start. I'd focus there first. You can't play effective defense if your team isn't scoring.

If you want to play on HOF difficulty, practice with the team you are on in MyPlayer on player lock from the position of your MyPlayer outside of MyPlayer mode.

Play the same team over and over until you can beat it.

You'll want to make sure your vids are set to archive over there if they aren't so they can be watched after the fact.

The fact that both Melo AND Amar'e are out with broken legs doesn't help >_<

The video is archived, it's only 3 quarters of gameplay. I was getting a tad irritated and I had to go to something quick.
