Re: Slow animations and broken dribbles are not how you improve defense effectiveness

Some of the stutter dribbling animation has stopped, but now they have this suction cup animation, that's like a force field that won't let you move pass the defender & allows them to recover.

I was playing online & the dude kept hitting the charge button. No matter how I moved to avoid him, I kept getting these weird animations driving me towards him in order to do these weird new dribble sequences. Then I'll get past him, but couldn't move then once free I would finally go into a contested shot animation allowing him to block or make me miss.

Weirdest thing I ever seen, he never got a charge or blocking call, but would constantly get these predetermined animation that would pull me in & allow him to morph in front of me & defend.

Re: Slow animations and broken dribbles are not how you improve defense effectiveness

I'm struggling right now. It seems like pre patch all over again. Sliders do next to nothing. Defenders are back to banging into me before my stuttering ball handler 'explodes' out of doing any sort of hesitation or iso move. Using turbo seems to engage uber defense mode and I am sucked into guys who are literally defending other people. That's not an exaggeration. I also feel like I am on rollerskates on both sides of the ball. Or maybe it's just sock feet...

I know it's been said they don't do gameplay adjustments with the constant updates, but I don't subscribe to that theory at all. The game plays differently every few days and it's back to the way it was. Making 'loldefense more gooder' when it's actually just turning high caliber, agile and explosive athletes into parodies of their actual self. Playing nothing at all like the patch played initially several days ago.

Re: Slow animations and broken dribbles are not how you improve defense effectiveness

I keep saying it...

And as good as the game is, it'll never be as good as it could or should be, until...

They quit with so many animations and make the defense faster than the offense, period.
Player on d not dribbling will ALWAYS be faster and quicker than a ballhandler (speaking similar positions, not center vs guard).

It's better this year, well it was, but all this bumping on defense needs to go..90% of them animations would be called a blocking foul.

Likewise, on offense if I guess right and the defender is out of position LET ME BLOW PAST HIM. I shouldn't have to do some weird dribble move at all, if he's off balance he can't recover.

Honestly, I think I (we?) expect too much from the game. I'm gonna just start approaching it more as a video game, not even a simulation of the NBA either.
Because playing basketball now competitively at different levels for like 10 years of my life I expect to be able to do things in real life on here defensively and offensively but I just can't.

You're right. Sadly I still want to replicate NBA basketball. I watch like 3 games a day, and I truly love the sport. I turn this abortion of a game on and I just sigh. So much potential but yet, so far from being sim. However 3-4 times a game something happens as it should, and it just looks and feels awesome. Then I shut down Paul George with Pau Gasol by banging into him because 'loldefense' and, well, the cpu just kinda tries to bulldoze to the paint anyway.

Oh well, hopefully things will get better.

Slow animations and broken dribbles are not how you improve defense effective...

I literally don't know how much easier they could make it to blow by your defender at this point....the margin for error has already decreased with the patch.

I can get by guys with no moves. Doing any move is the issue. Doing no moves is not basketball. It truly plays different than after the patch. The stutter step thing is back. I'm not the only one seeing it. The gameplay is sluggish and unresponsive and it seems worse than it was. However that's just my opinion.

It's also freedom to move on the perimeter. I shouldn't have to go 8 feet out of the way to run a screen because otherwise I'll get sucked into a defender because I wanted to actually use turbo...because you know...NBA players, on occasion turn on the jets in order to use the screen.

Who knows. I acknowledge that it may be that I just suck and you're a lot better than me. That doesn't change the constant gameplay changes and perimeter contact issues. I don't care about winning and losing as much as some might think. I care about realistic feel and play.

2K dropped the ball this year. They've been doing silent mini updates trying to compensate. Users finally understanding this game we've been putting up with has the potential to be great but they bs'ing now, just holding the crown because nobody else is coming right to take it. First step is an overhaul of these animations.

I'm starting to believe that Mike wang, patch 3 and the 2k family ruined this games on purpose so that we have to go buy the next one coming next year hoping it will be better. They can't make a proper game. Always patching their broken games and making things worst.
This is a question to 2k, Mike wang aka beluba.

Can you guys make a proper game that is fresh out of the box without any need for patches? Its getting ridiculous 2k15 was the same dance.

I used to admire and have respect for you guys but I'm starting to get annoyed with all the wrong you do to a game with your constant updates and patches. Please make your game the old way, no patches no updates "just make a great game outta box" lol
will post videos of these issues for proof.
