Simple fix man, click on the CPU defender and play on-ball. The OP won't be playing any of the player-lock modes.

Even so, bail-out fouls are still too prevalent but playing off-ball only exasperates the issue.

That is my avenue about 90% of the time. The other 10% is strictly playing against my friends at my house....zero online, so my opinion is predicated on what the OP desires.

Via your post, it has some truth but also many inaccuracies. What I am trying to say is as long as I utilize my defensive settings, control my defenders and adjust the other settings I mentioned on the last page; I have great results.

No, changing POE does not do much but defensive settings makes a world of a difference against the CPU on standard playnow/myleague 5 on 5 ball. Yes, you will have plays where your defense rotates and a man is wide open but doesn't that happen in real life?

If you expect to have lock down D every possession, you are in for a world of frustration. Bad defensive teams have horrible rotations, lackluster interior D, bad perimeter defense, pick and roll D, ect. And that's how it should be; we all cry SIM but want our cake and ice cream with perfect circumstances when playing but that's not how it should work. That's not an accurate representation of the NBA; Defensive lapses happen often in the NBA.

If I play with the Lakers, I can't stop hardly anything remotely to good basketball. But if I play with the Spurs, I can stop the CPU for 3-6 possessions straight at times. That's SIM ball.

You have to give to take or pick your poison when playing against the CPU. What I, you or anyone on this forum says isn't the bible. But the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
Again I am not disagreeing with you or anyone but we are talking about 2 different things. I am clearly talking about myleague/mygm why people keep mentioning mycareer and player look is beyond me.

More importantly your settings are absolutely spot on and does minimize problem but as I first stated in this thread your settings are talking about your manual patches you do to cover up your defense handicap along with manual stick skill management to make it playable for you

. My argument is your setting listed don't address the problem when you are on offense and the cpu is on defense is all. And of coarse perfection will never be attainable but not being able to minimize numerous bugs and glitches that have a profound effect in a game has never been a problem till now for me.

So my question is what setting or slider do you use to minimize the team you playing against not what you do defensively to help you but what can I do to help the cpu team i play against play some resemblance of transition/help. Fyi i tried help defense sliders, defensive awareness sliders don't help for me .

Thanks

I wanted to add the one other thing that makes this game excel is the off ball animations. You get individual players walking, wiping sweat and other animations.

This is one key feature that separates 2k16 from the other games M16 and MLB in those games everyone is doing the same thing. When I first saw it in 2k16 brings a whole new life to the game.

Also I am a offline player because the only play cost money! I already pay a internet bill

Reread my post. We are talking about the same modes; I do not play the other modes as I indicated in my previous post.

Superstar/SIM plays a fine game for me. Some defensive lapses as I indicated before but the great defensive teams have much less defensive problems. The Bucks give me fits, just like the Warriors do. The Nuggets get the work as they should.

Gotcha. You see the defensive cpu ai being enjoyable so you leave at default while I see too many lapses from even good defensive team per game that effect my enjoyment offline. That I understand now. I just hope they redo the transition logic for 2k17 because this game is just too great in every other area in my opinion.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let the shot clock get down to 5 or so and my A.I. self implodes every time, either just totally moving out of CPU way to allow clear path or commiting the most illogical foul no matter the size difference. My bigs will not stand up and contest shots, they will be sucked into defender to bail out foul. There is nothing you can change to stop this, I've experimented with putting CPU rebound sliders at 1 and the CPU will still be dragged to the ball no matter what. I have a recorded play of a deflection, and two blocks in same possession cause the CPU was only player allowed to move to loose ball.

There is nothing you can do slider wise to adjust this, anyone in here can put CPU at 1 on everything, hustle, speed, ball handle, and STILL watch the CPU outplay your A.I. to the ball and on defense.

This has been the case since 2k11 and I doubt patch 4 will address anything the CPU does "manically" as that has been a 5 year ignored process.

To properly gauge this matter a little bit of context could come in handy for those who bother to answer me: I am in my thirties...i pretty much only play offline or against my friends that live across the country; i do not care for ranked matches against strangers...and i most certainly DON'T care about some livin' the dream crap...i mean "Frequency Vibrations"...come on Spike (if you even wrote that stinker yourself...what you probably did not do btw) i think you smoked that "Spike Lee Joint" thing and added some funny substances to that mix; long story short: I only care about on court gameplay...online is pretty much only for downloading realistic sliders and appropriate rosters. I have not played 2K since around 2012...
I love basketball...i play with my Team (not that goofie 2k stuff; with real human beings you now...oldschool: getting on the court to have fun and have a workout) i watch alot of NBA on LP...2K is my go to thing if the weather is bad or i don't have enough buddies to play the real thing...

And back then broke physics and animation drove me CRAZY...the new physics look really nice in the developer diaries...but everybody knows these are tightly controlled (not to say staged) environments...i think physics is the final frontier for sports video games...and sometimes (looking at you Fifa on ignite engine) newer games brake physics again after they were better in previous iterations (in FIFA a lot of times the ball clips through a players opposite ankle to morph into position for a shot...intolerable in 2015 imho). I watched this video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXGdaaGcBVw credits go out to shakedown2012); and i dont want to play/pay for a game that has any of those things in it ever again. (EDIT: these real time impressions look promising: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJYiHHDLEu0 credit goes to regular dave)

So after (hopefully) reading this rant: Is 2k16 for me?
Best regards to those who bothered to read to this point ;-)

Still the best we have of any game out there or that has been made.

I'd never ask these guys here about games because they don't like anything

In all fairness I'm not talking about your players on defense even though the issue you state are accurate it just some can make it manageable for them while others can't. My problem I was stating deals with the cpu defense that we play against not play with but it is a problem on both user and cpu side for me
