That same animation triggers just a regular foul 4/5 times and yeah sometimes triggers this flagrant foul but if you ask me flagrant aren't problem but overall fouls are unrealistic and poorly done. How can you be awarded for same animation with two different foul calls is beyond me.

Yeah. I've seen that animation countless times for both flagrant and regular fouls. There should be a choice of defensive intensity or something. One where you are more likely to get blocks or steals, but you run the risk of getting more fouls, and a more conservative one where you are looking more to just contest shots and prevent the drive.

On Xbox I tend to get flagrant fouls whenever i'm holding the left trigger and someone drives into me. Lately I've just let go of it when ever i'm playing defense in the paint and it seems to have worked for me.

odds are somewhere in the middle. What's bad about flagrants is that there's no rhyme or reason for them.

If they occurred to lower skilled defenders or people lacking the mentor or maturity badges. It would make more sense.
