Where the heck is the mid-range game in 2k16?

No. Pretty sure he's saying that BRAGGING about winning 73 games by shooting nothing but layups & 3-pointers... while losing the NBA Title (in spectacular fashion) to a team that took more sensible, midrange shots.... is a SURE FIRE WAY of becoming a record-breaking 'laughing stock' that will be remembered more as a 'punchline'....... than for the 73 wins.

From my experience I hit more success hitting pull up threes than pull up midrange . Close range shots (freethrow line and under) fall at the highest rate though even contested.

That'd be valid if the Warriors didn't win the championship in 2015. Or the Spurs in 2014 with their elite 3 point shooting over another mid-range shooting team.

Didn't the VERY SAME Spurs team lose the Championship to the (midrange shooting) Miami Heat just a year earlier in 2013??

Anyways, the Spurs are not a good team to use to support your position because..... they are led by Tim Duncan.... whose whole game is HOF worthy 'midrange excellence'. He's arguably the best midrange / bankshot artist the league has ever seen.

Some of us try not ignore the last 40-50 years of NBA titles just because the Warriors won 1 single championship.

The midrange game (in general) is still very important.

The teams who choose to ignore it.... usually end up losing to the teams that do not ignore it.

Actually that 2012-2013 Heat team was the second best 3 point shooting team that year lol. In 2013-2014 they fell to 12th.

The 2013-2014 Spurs were not led by Tim Duncan. I'm sorry if you think that.

And no we shouldn't ignore the last 40-50 years. But teams are finally realizing the value in the 3 point shot (which is just mind-boggling that it took this long 3>2).

I'm an old head so pretty much live for the mid range game.

Absolutely money with MJ.

In fact, i have more trouble getting 3's to drop than hitting mid range.

Currently in the playoffs with the 98 Bulls and can't hit squat with Kerr from the outside - all good looks. Just hitting Jordan on the triangle and getting him to sink mid range pull ups or his classic fadeaway jumpers.

Mid range isn't dead so long as you find the right guys for the job.

I think MJ's midrange is much higher than his three.

Tim Duncan LED the Spurs in SCORING during the 2013 Finals when they lost to Miami. (18.3 ppg)

And Danny Green had set the record (26) for most 3-point field goals MADE in the same NBA Finals series, when they lost to Miami.

If you think the (1st ballot) Hall of Famer (Tim Duncan) who leads his team in scoring during the 2013 NBA Finals... WAS NOT... the 'leader of the Spurs'.... but some OTHER guy was (who might not even make it to the Hall of Fame) OVER Tim Duncan... then we can stop this convo right here.
