Archetypes in 2k18 for MyPark/MyCAREER or no?

Would need to be a longer grind than it is now. If you can get close to a max in a week or 2 that is my issue.

Good if they are strict. Start everyone off at 65. Nothing automatic. Build on what you have now.

One more thing that irks me is these badges, varities and what not else. First of all we have 'normal' badges that are available for mostly anyone. Second, we have archetypes badges that are tied to our playstyle, third, we have grand badges and park badges..I mean its too hard when to catch up with all these things.

I would keep the Archetypes system and just improve it. I would prefer the 2k11 style of ratings rather than tiered rating groups.
I never play online, but I understand why you would want caps. But as others said, people would always find ways to exploit systems. Especially those who are willing to spend extra $50-100 plus on VC.
But at current Archetype system, you truly can't become a superstar. You are really a glorified Role player. Almost all the superstars of league are excellent at multiple facets of the game. Really you can't even emulate any of the superstars with current system.
What I would want is to choose a Archetype as a base with 2k11 style ratings. Instead of starting off at 55 OVR(which I never understood), you start off with 68-75 OVR. But make it very tough and enduring to raise ratings. Just make them softer caps. Where they can keep the upgrades limit, but softer caps

Bigs can still dribble fast and defend my playmaker PG step for step, so whats the point?

For online purposes only they might as well just adapt what NHL EASHL does, they just give you a player already with height, perks, and attributes already for style of play.

I love the idea they have now but it needs some rebuilding to it some of the stuff doesn't make any sense at all. I will say the reason I love archetypes it prevents people from doing it all. Yea it's people that make curry look like a bum with the type of shots they are throwing up and hitting but they aren't coming down the line looking like Prime Vince Carter and Shawn Kemp mixed into one.

One last thing I don't believe the archetypes wouldn't come off that bad if the gameplay wasn't this horrible to be honest. MyCareer should probably be separate from online so those people could make any type of player. (even though someday someway somehow people will figure out how to take a offline player online with no penalty.)

If the archetype system is like this year for 2k18 I'd be disappointed.

Hopefully I can either choose a primary and secondary archetype next year or completely go back to the old system (2k11 or 2k14). Offline or Online. The only problem I see with being whatever you want is 7'3 Centers dribbling and shooting 3s. There's a way they can not let that happen.

I just want to be who I want to be. Can't be to much to ask for. :/

If there is indeed another archtype system then please do away with the grand badges. Imo that was a horrible horrible idea this year. Especially the sharpshooter one. Makes the game way too arcadey imo and taking away from the sim aspect. Also ive been requesting this for a while but please detatch driving dunk/contact dunk away from driving layup and standing layup. Dunking should be part of athleticism imo. If i want to make a small allen iverson like guard i want him great at layups but i dont want him just out there able to cram on people too.

I don't think they should make the archetypes go away, yet improve them. 1st thing they should do is give us the option to pick 5 badges, out of 8-10. Not any random badges, badges appealed to your archetype.

Having archetypes over just a balanced system, helps improve diversity and I feel its an improvement.

I prefer to see people who are good at certain things, weak-avg in other categories, than to see people who are the same.
