HDR on PS4 (SUPER dark)?

I had the same problem. But a new 4k hdmi cable fixed it for me. So I guess my old cable was outdated for this new technology.

Yea this might be the problem most people are having, I think the real HDR goodness will arrive with the PS4 pro since it has the hdmi2.0 output im sure it will be a big difference.

FYI there is no such thing as "4K cables". It just needs to be rated as High Speed and specd for 18gbs rate. Any HDMI ports along your chain (either TV or AV receiver) need to have HDMI 2.0 or 2.0a.

question mine is a philips 4k tv how do i activate this HDR?? coz if play it with my picture activity in TV mode the resolution is really good but there is a lag so i always switch to game mode but the quality is not hi-def.. am i missing something thanks

is your tv a hdr capable tv? Those started to come out only 2 years ago and fully implemented this year.

Also game mode does not lower the resolution. You actually get the raw image as intended by the devs because the tv turns off all processing it does to the picture so it will look natural.....
