Or...

Something that would start a world war... make offline badges separate from park badges, separate from Pro-Am badges. Thats the ultimate way to earn a badge and likewise feel a strong sense of accomplishment.

If you are still reading and havent sent a death wish over me....

I think you should only get 5-6 badges total. Maybe choose 3-4 of the Archetype based badges and choose 2 more as unlockable and also upgradeable.

I can explain. I have a 7'2" Paint Protector for pro-am, I cannot recall Mutumbo or any Rim Protector taking a ton of charges. I'd rather turn in charge card and chasedown artist (Only time a Center will chase someone down is if hes riding in a cop car) for pickpocket or hustle rebounder which usually comes hand and hand with a real life paint protector.

This would also make the corner 3 being drained by GC, PP and LDD with no 3pt shot attribute bars much less likely and the game more sim.

i know it would never happen though
I like the idea of being able to choose the badge like you said, but I'm worried about having them unlocked in the pro-am game..the last thing I'd want to deal with is a teammate jacking terrible shots trying to get a badge.

I agree. These dudes that put the game on rookie/12, max gamespeed and just mindlessly put up contested shots to get these badges should not be rewarded with these overpowered shooting badges. Especially in this year's game because only one archetype can counter these OP shooting badges while the rest of us are running around with only bronze defensive badges.

The difficulty of getting these shooting badges isn't an excuse imo. If you actually have an archetype that can shoot well it's not hard to hit semi-contested shots on higher difficulties. You just have to use your head.

If you have a sharpshooter/stretch, get gold catch and shoot and corner specialist. I'm hitting shots in the CPUs face very consistently using this method, and I'm doing it all in the flow of running plays. For shot creators, get gold difficult shots and then go ham for mid range deadeye.

If you're not good at the game/shooting then you shouldn't be able to get these scoring badges.

But I clearly express the unpopular opinion, so I just hope next year the guys that play on higher difficulties get the requirements cut in 4ths or somewhere close to that fraction. Either that, or give every archetype gold defensive badges to counter the bull.

Shooting patches for park wouldn't even be needed if you actually needed skill to get these hof shooting badges.

You shouldn't be able to get a hall of fame badge w/o playing a minimum of 5 years and a 10 game sim per season maximum.

Also games should be atleast 8 minutes.

If you can achieve that, then you deserve HOF badges. They should be rare.

Well, i didnt think about that.... the way pro-am is currently played 90% of the players would have that badge.

And get rid of the cheesy Hall of Fame badges and the Grand Badge.
HOF and grand badges are cool imo. It helps further distance the gap between archetypes. If say a Kyle Korver gets hot(Activates his grand badge) it should be a cause for concern for the other team. Lets say Tristian Thompson gets hot and gets 4 offensive rebounds on 4 straight possessions. You SHOULD have to gameplan against him.

Imo if Pro am/park was really aiming to simulate hot streaks.....grand badges would not go away until you either missed 2 times in a row or failed to get a rebound on 3 straight possessions or ect. Guys get their grand badge and hit like 4 threes in a row, and then for no reason the badge deactivates. Why did it go away? Did the player suddenly not feel it anymore? Picture Devin Booker when he dropped 70. He stayed hot ALL GAME. So you cant say it never happens.

I like the badge XP idea but that is essentially how they already do it. Theres just no tracking so you know how far you are from getting it. With an XP system that would be an easy excuse to track badge progress.

I find myself agreeing with the bolded but disagreeing with the 5 year thing.

But its a contradiction. If I want HOF badges to be more rare, but also don't agree on it taking longer to get them I am a hypocrite.

The bolded all day. Iv been making big men since around 2k13 so when someone told me I didn't even have to make the shot to get the shooting badges I was very surprised. That has to change. The way you should get the shooting badges is based on your end of season shooting percentage. So yes that would mean NO ONE in the game has a shooting badge their rookie year. But that also means the best shooters will probably have every shooting badge game 1 of year 2. Im totally fine with that if you've shown you can meet the % requirement for a whole season. Now as suggested before HOF badges should basically be the same but it should take way longer. Right now theres NO incentive to play MyCareer after you get your HOF badges. Making HOF badges obtainable after your 4th or 5th season would do a lot for the game imo. Yeah people would cry about the grind but plenty games have a similar grind.

If it meant less people have them then im totally fine with HOF badges taking 5 years to get. The try hard grinders would still probably get them in a week because they have no life but some random chump couldn't turn on his game, spend 40$ and get his 5 HOF badges within 2 days.

Honestly id be perfectly fine with adding another tier of badge only obtainable after 10 years in MyCareer. They would be VERY VERY rare so probably less than 20% of people would even have it. That's a suggestion for another day tho

How about what already happens in the park, with Bone Collector?

Its completely obvious when a guy is trying to get that badge in the park. They did a GREAT job not making too many park badges like that this year.

What if there was a park badge for 3s? Can you imagine all the ball hogging wed see by sharpshooters? The ballhogging by Playmakers is already at a level that I find horrible but at least most DO EVENTUALLY pass when they are locked up. Sharpshooters will sit there yelling at you to set them a screen then shoot.
