Chuck would be a plus, no doubt. As both a player and an analyst. I love, LOVE Inside the NBA and Charles and the whole crew. Easily the best basketball production out there. But NBA2K has been breaking basketball videogame sales and revenue records without Charles. How much more would he actually add vs not having him? This is a business at the end of the day.

Also, part of what I like about Barkley is that he's funny and entertaining on TV. I don't see 2K being able to capture that too well to videogame form. They did capture Chris Berman pretty well back in the day though, so maybe.

I do believe that it would be a wonderful gesture of goodwill and publicity for 2K to just donate the million to the retired players fund. Heck, they pay out 250K for that pro am tournament. They could get some good pub, get Charles, and help the retired players all in one swoop. Absent that though, I think the MyTeam card or even have Charles available for sale for like a dollar or something like the WWE games and have the proceeds go to the retired players could be a way to go. I'd get on that.

I kind of feel like Chuck simply has no interest in being in a video game after his first experience and is going to make 2k jump through hurdles to get him in.

But he said they don't have to pay him a dime. Why do people continue to think he wants to get paid? Plus he has always said that he hates how the NBA is treating the retired players.

They do. They pay every classic player that appears in the game the same amount from what I've heard.

However, guys like Kareem and Jordan can get money doing other things in the real world to cash in on their celebrity. Guys lower on the pole like Craig Hodges and Jud Buechler probably don't get many chances to cash in on their former playing days celebrity.

I wouldn't hold your breath for them to get Chuck. He's been saying this thing about $1 mil to the players fund for years and years and 2k has never done it. It's way too much money and Chuck knows it.
