Can someone explain to me the advanced rotation system this year? I'm so lost on how to set things. Last year was much easier

As the Pistons what do you guys think I can get back for Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson?
I think I'm going to send Jackson to Orlando along with Reggie Bullock and a pick for Elfrid Payton and Terrence Ross. I have no clue what to do with Drummond though.

Anyone else having a hard time signing rookies to their rookie extension?
Super max contracts are confusing as well.

Is there a specific way to use the MLE and all that?

Preparing myself for the opening day rosters so I can start a new my league

So like I said a few posts up, I've never actually gone ahead and done 30 team control, does anyone know if there's a guide somewhere on exactly how it's done?

I mean, are you literally making every decision for each team, or are you just doing the big stuff like draft picks, major free agents, etc?

Say you have Paul George and Lebron in free agency next year, how do you decide who gets them? Do you just go with the conventional wisdom and send them to LA, or do you go your own way? Obviously, it's up to the individual, but looking for either a guide or a description of what some 30 team control veterans do in these situations.

Thanks!

Just tried it for the first time this year too. I set it up so I control all teams, but then I automate all actions for all teams except one (my main team). The I basically run it like you normally would, but I block trades I deem unrealistic. It also gives me the chance to make sure some teams bid on players they probably would in real life, and I also delete the free agent offers of teams players wouldn't go to irl (for example, I deleted the Indiana Pacers max offer to Kevin Durant in the first off season). And if the AI signs three 75+ rated point guards during free agency it also gives me the ability to trade one of them to a different team.

It’s not perfect, and it takes a bit of discipline, but it’s WAY better than letting the AI kill the balance of the league withing a year.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread

I have a few questions. I have not started yet but was just going threw some sims to try to figure out some stuff and I was wondering what is a cap hold? Like what does it do? What is the point of it? Also about trying to sign guys I fell like I am missing something. I was running the sims with default settings other then hard cap off because of how it messes up with FA signing yet I couldn't figure out like how to try to even sign good players has it was saying I was over the cap even though it didn't look like it. For example I was at 37.77m below salary cap room in the sim I was just doing and tried to sign a guy for like 30 but it wouldn't let me. What am I missing?

Who would you rather run a gm series with? Trail blazers or bucks? I'm in a pickle

Your problem in this sceanrio is the Cap Hold.

The Cap hold is a placeholder for Players a team is expected to sign, so Free Agents with Bird Rights and 1st-Round-Picks.

So for example: you have 37 Million Cap Space and a Free Agent with 15 Million Cap Hold, that means in reality you have only 22 Million Million Cap Space.

You can renounce the Cap Hold, but then you lose the Bird Rights for your Player.
